Dallas was meant to be at the club this morning apparently but never showed. Cook has rightly pulled the plug, he's been having us bent over a barrel for weeks changing his mind about contracts, demands etc after apparent verbal agreements were made. We do right, nobody is bigger than the club, and he certainly isn't the be all and end all.

I hope we make him settle his bill in Casa as well before he checks out.

Plan B appears to be someone Kieron Dyer had in the U23's at Ipswich.

Mentioned earlier in the week - Harley Curtis. Only two senior appearances on loan at Braintree…not sure thats the best replacement but you never know

Please god can this saga conclude today. If the not turning up thing is true, just shows the character of the lad. No issue with him following the money, but a bit of decency costs nowt.

No reason to doubt any of this and if it is true then, good luck to him and we move on.

A quality player who will be pushing for top scorer in this league given a decent run of games, but its not the end of the world and I'm certain not gonna run him out of town with a pitchfork!

Arguably, his goals got us to Wembley and so close to l2 last season, for that I am thankful.

Doesn’t fill you with excitement does it? With that said you’d like to think if we’re going from someone proven like Dallas to someone not so, there’s space for another that is.

If Dallas is elsewhere bound then what a waste of pre season speculation 😂

I hope this is the last time anyone believes what Charlie Walden or Joshua Smith have to say, you'd think most would have learned that lesson with Arblaster, Kilgour and Cal Roberts and yet it gets lapped up every time.

If its not Liam Norcliffe or a journo who's not trying to be an engagement merchant then you can probably assume it's a load of plop.

Thats easy for you to say though, being on the 'inside'.

Where people struggle is when they assume that every player linked to us (and there is clearly links here!) will automatically sign.

If CFC91 is correct, and TBF he usually is, then we've offered him deal and all JS or CW have done is assumed that he'd sign!

To be fair the speculation was very much warranted.

He has been living in town, out and about a lot, and very openly talking to fans about his desire to stick around. Albeit my only conversation with him was about 1am in Town one night about 3 weeks ago so he could have told me anything and i'd have still bought him a drink.

It has been a proper waste of everyones time, the only positive is it is the 3rd July not 3rd August, and we have a few weeks to get someone in, get them up to speed and integrated into the squad. If he does go elsewhere then so be it, i've not heard anything for a few days on what's going on so Oldham must have come to the party quite recently.

If they do sign him, they will be paying a lot given we upped our offer for Dallas a number of times in an attempt to get him in. Sounded like Cook became disinterested with it all but the board were insistent on getting him in so they might be more cheesed off than Cook by all of this.

There's a huge difference between stoking rumours and flat out saying a player is 100% signed though.

Search function on twitter is offline, so only anything from yesterday and older shows

@1rhysparsons seems to think he's ITK, search for him then read the threads

The results it brings up say they are a few minutes ago etc unless it’s just cached stuff.

The Clayton Donaldson of 2023. 🤬
I will be absolutely slated for this but Dallas is a complete w*nker. He’s strung this club along for 6 weeks, complete free loader and an A grade ********.

You got one bit right, you will be slated and rightly.

He's negotiating his wage for the next x seasons, he has to get the best he can, I'd be doing the same. Good luck to the lad, sure he will do well wherever he goes, but hopefully not too well if its not with us...
Stay Home. Stay Safe.
