I think he will sign for Gillingham - However if they do sign Alfie May that does make it very interesting all of a sudden. They only signed Tom Nicholls from Crawley a few months ago who is also a striker. Unless they see Dallas more of a winger I can’t see them signing two strikers this window.

We’re after two quality strikers why can’t they be?

I suppose that depends on how much quality the "wonderkid" striker they signed 2 days ago has, and if they think they still need more.

The Dallas saga should be concluded by 5pm tomorrow, he either signs for Gillingham or us
If the agent is being too greedy and overpriced then I can see him more likely signing go Gillingham

Town fans all over social media embarrassing themselves over Dallas like him singing is make or break for next season

Quality player but his signing is not the be all and end all

And absolutely no confirmation/evidence that we are after him?

Whatever happens I think this is more proof that you should never fall in love with a loan player, although this one hasn't been helped by the rent-a-journos on twitter who have all said he 100% has signed.

Dallas wasn't even on the plane to Portugal so I don't get all this is it or isn't him rubbish . My nephew as been working down in Kent for 3 months on road repairs and this week they are on the main road before turning onto where Priest field stadium is . He is a big Town fan and says Dallas and another bloke (presumably is agent) was at their ground on Monday and he's their again today according to him.

It must be great to have relatives in high(way) places!

I was telling the kids when I used to go on holiday abroad in early 90s the only way to find out about the scores is buying the paper which arrived a day late!

I think that should be the case with transfers tbh because this is getting dull!

I don't get this agent bashing stuff!

It feels like if any players chooses another club instead of us then they must be greedy/lack ambition/have poor agents!

He employs an agent to get him to best deal possible, and it appears thats exactly what he's doing!

Good luck to him

They spent a lot including some strikers last Jan they will still have so not certain they are looking to buy two this summer.

He won’t be overpriced if they pay him more. It will be the market value.

Word on the street seems to be that Dallas' agent wants the Gillingham deal due to upfront payments that we aren't willing to meet. Our offer beyond that is said to be comparable if not greater.

Upfront payments? To the agent?

And this is exactly why the agent gets stick. They look after themselves. Hopefully Dallas tells him to stick it.

It'll be a signing on fee to Dallas which he'll take a cut on.

We'd probably not have an issue with it if we weren't having to pay compo

Yep, normally paid in equal instalments on the anniversary of the deal commencing (so a £10k singing on fee pays out £3,333 every summer for a 3 year deal), given the distance and relative higher cost of living between the WMs and Kent, presumable he's simply asking for that payment to be realistic to cover moving expenses etc.

He'll not send Dallas there against his wishes though, if Dallas had no remote interest in going there then he would tell his agent that.

If Dallas goes there, it'll be his decision, not his agents.

That is true. It would shock me if he didn't go there, especially if his mind is on money/EFL short-term. Gills are throwing some serious money about and it would shock me if they aren't playing in the third tier come this time next year.

Yeah, he’ll want it in place before 1st July when the agent fees change

What’s happened at Gills that they have money to spend like they apparently do? Last week they were supposedly interested in a £200K striker from Ayr.
