Which suggests any deal for Dallas or Tyrer are not over the line yet.

Rumour I've heard is that Dallas can't be announced till after 30th due to him been on contract till then ? Not that I know any more than anyone else ?

Most players are in contract until then and they usually just announce it as joining upon expiry if his contract like most other clubs

That would make sense, we dont like announcing stuff until its official all signed and he presumably cant sign any contract with us until his Solihull one expires. We could go down the route of pre-contract etc but we've been burned by that before back in Saltergate days.

I like it- he won’t be deemed to be a true free agent (subject to a tba development fee) until then.
I am going with that - will keep me happy for the time being

Call me naive, or Neve, or Eric, but is it possible that this is an innovative marketing strategy by Ash to see if waiting has a beneficial effect on ST sales?
If it is I for one welcome it. Shows somebody with initiative at last.
Also, it's surely inconceivable that none of our targets have gone to anybody else barr Thingy, who wouldn't trouble our starting 11 any road up.

Fairly Niamh if so. Tickets are more likely to shift on confirmation of signing/s.

Both clubs have to agree. If Solihull say no, we can't announce until he officially leaves at the end of the month.

B****Y hell. Where's that come from?
But beings as you asked......
Maguire and Dallas both played in the same team last season and TBF Maguire's inclusion into the team arguably stabilised them and he played a massive part in our confidence building run to third place.
Also, Maguire showed last season that he can play in yet another position after playing as a CB aswell as playing the Def mid for Sheridan. So we effectively have a half decent utility player in the squad. If Cookie sees it differently then so be it, but I'd rather see a player of Maguire's adaptability in the squad just incase we fall short for whatever reason.

Where that came from is if McGuire isn't in Cooks plans then we need rid (along with Rowe, Asante, Whelan, Gyasi) if we want to sign players of Dallas quality without blowing our budget.

It wasn't directed at McGuire not being worth keeping. I don't mind him and as you say he was steady when he came in, but we have 2 left backs already and Loz wage could be used to attract good players in positions we desperately need to address...like a quality centre forward.

The last accounts show the books didn't balance by some way and there will be a limit to how much the Kirks keep putting in so getting shot of players Cook doesn't want will be pivotal to the playing budget.

Under contract for another year. Not heard any rumours about a transfer or loan. I would however hope that he will be 3rd choice behind Dallas and a n other if he's staying!

We've got to consider the improved form of Clements for the run in as well. He's developing quickly. Maguire has got some serious thinking to do.

5pm and still no announcement - Holding out we are going to announce a signing this evening. I really need to put this phone down because the anticipation is turning into immense frustration day by day.
