Tbh I think there’s a good chance Cook will be linked with Grigg every transfer window for the rest of time

Some interesting names being bandied about on these boards so anybody think our first signing will be somebody we've never heard of?

What's Callum Roberts up too nowadays?

Left Notts for Aberdeen last year, barely played...

Sound like a great player, but quite injury prone..... personally with that in mind, I'm not keen....we've been down this road before with many great players who end up sat in the stands watching our games rather than playing in them. It's a no from me.

I’m with you on this, hope we do suitable due diligence on injury prone players or offer a pay as you play deal

Would love Cal Roberts. But as others have said, has to be a basic wage with perhaps an appearance bonus? Can’t get stuck in a Rowe / Oyeleke / Asante situation.

Also, as others have stated, he might be a talented lad but I would have thought this was the last position we really needed to strengthen in. Unless of course someone is leaving.

Dallas isn’t ours anyway so I think we can discount him as such, though I’m sure we will talk to him at least but it appears his ambitions are within the FL so expecting him to play there next season.

Agreed, in fact I seem to remember Dallas saying if we go up he would sign, if not it's goodbye. So it's goodbye

and what a starting point he has to do that from because he is top draw talent for the level we find ourselves, he also has a great coaching team around him who will help him learn the pro game but let's admire the talent of this lad whilst he's still at our club, personally i love watching players like dobs, he's what i go to football for, for that excitement when such a player gets on the ball and in a way you're not certain of what is going to happen... there's a lot to learn for sure but so glad he'll do that learning at our club.

How good would he be if he concentrated on his game rather than cheating.
Rarely does he benefit from diving just gets himself a rep and then doesn’t get the devil a he should.

Just a couple of ideas from me, yes Cook has his list of players but last season was a case of so near, yet so far, but we seem to be a fairly attractive proposition.

How about players such as James Wilson released by Vale or someone like Jephcott released by Plymouth?

Danny Lloyd could be one Cook looks at. Out of contract at Rochdale, one of their best performers and rated highly by their fans despite only having half a season with them. Knows this level and he’s a scouser, Cookie loves a scouser in the ranks.

I like Wilson when iv seen him down the Vale but another who had a poor fitness record last season and takes ages to get up to speed afterwards

Luckily for him he’ll probably live in Manc which is definitely an upgrade. Barrow train there all week and only travel to the ground for games.

Are they in a position to sign him? Been under a transfer embargo which will end for this summer but finances wise they are in a mess.

He is OOC but not released. They are talking to him about a new deal.
