i am sorry i am not one of the doom brigade

but i fail to see where you can quote lowry as part of our midfield, up to present i dont think he has played more than 6 full games has he. what games he has played were in defence.

while i fully agree he definitely appears to have potential but dont you think you putting to much pressure on the young lad, lets give him chance to blossom and prove us right.

some people on this message board are already selling him for a million?

some wanted £2million for folan :P

as for young mr lowery, i dont see much else in the way of options. yes he has played his games in def, and they have been few and far between.but he looks good on the ball and comfortable going forward in the games i have seen him play.

its either that or smith (on the current crop). and im still not convinced smith is the answer. regardless of what the question is.
A new hope.

Don't get too carried away with Jamie. I remember a certain Gaz Davies flying down the wing at Field Mill a few seasons back, thinking to myself, we've got a right player here.

i take your point but dont you think a better option would be lowry at right back and picken as the winger in front of him.

he certainly looked to have the capability going forward and he would provide excellent support and guidance to help lowry in defending

Most people might not agree with me but I actually think young Lowery could cut it in the centre of midfield.

Other teams aren't afraid of putting youngsters into this area, Yeovil last season with Cohen for example, so why not Lowery. I thought I read somewhere that his Grandad said his best position (not Grandad's) was in midfield and he has height and pace, can tackle, shoot and pass.

Surely its worth a go with Smith or Jackson on the right & Robertson on the left of Niven & Lowery. Robertson has defensive qualities and can cross a ball whilst Smith & Jackson both have pace and need to come through this season.

Perhaps the very fact we're debating where a teenager with less than a quarter of a season's worth of games under his belt should start, says all that needs to be said about our football club at the moment.

yeh, but after the way he played on his debut... he really didnt look out of place or struggling against a decent West Ham side. I do think that midfield might yet be his best position too

You could argue that at last we have unearthed a gem and that is a positive from the youth set up, whcih again can be argued the club is moving in the right direction or there is the pessemistic view in that we haven't signed recognised established players. Personally I think he's worth a start

in which position though? i agree the lad is `gem`, but is he better at RB or RM? and are we asking too much of him at RM?

chris makes a valid point. we are talking about a kid with a just a few games at right back, suddenly becoming first chioce RM?
A new hope.

As I've said before I thought his weakness looked to be his defending as he got turned a little easy at times, which is to be expected. Coming forward I thought he looked very good. Time will tell where his best psotion is

he looks very comfortable with the ball at his feet, but if the club are serious about promotion, then a "time will tell" attitude may not be the best thing.

lets hope he comes good and goes on to great things with CFC and realises his potential.
A new hope.

Should be our first choice right back, I wish we wouldnt botch promising players into alternate positions, Lowery looked very comfortable a right back and played there for the youth set up why inhibit his potential by pressing him into a new position?
Whats with Jackson on right wing, whenever I've seen him in youth game he has been great - as a STRIKER!!
We need actual midfielders, players who fit naturally - don't always turn in or have to beat someone 6 times cos cant cross with their left.
