OK I'm a naughty tease but there is still the underlying point that we can work with these supermarkets to our advantage rather than be constantly fighting battles (or so it seems).

I've just read that on BBC sport and i still got optimistic where seeing the title of this thread.

Sorry to throw everything up in the air again, but someone with links to the Club told me today that ASDA either had or were trying to "gazump" Tesco for the site. Which is why progress is stalling, it would appear.
And take this any way you want, but a woman that works with my Wife (and who knows nothing about our current situation, i might add) called one of those ASDA customer helplines the other day and was told quite categorically that "ASDA are coming to Chesterfield!".
Probably all twaddle, but i guess we're used to it by now.
