Looks like a solid addition, had a look to see what Stockport thought of him and they seem very confident of signing Tshimanga soon.

I know nowt but I thought last year they could improve at RB, so my money would be on King.

Good shout, maybe “undisclosed” means they’ve got first dibs or even an agreement in place for a player soon as the window opens.

I’d be shocked if we have just signed him for anything like £100k without any kind of contra deal agreed, after the vine coming out of the club that the purse strings were drawn tight!

And maybe it means nothing of the sort.

When was the last time we disclosed a transfer fee?

There will be names bandied about in the January window, Tshimanga, King and Dobra will be the obvious ones

As always, I'll judge on what he does in the royal blue of Chesterfield FC.

Baring in mind Cook's poor signings wouldn't fill a five-a-side team...

We can't have paid 100k for a 30 yr old league 2 player who can't get a game. Where has this come from??!

At a push, it might be costing us £100k including wages. They want him off the the wagebill but he's in demand at our level. That's equivalent to receiving a fee from their perspective.

It’s probably not come from anywhere but I think we all agree that we need a centre back. Cook made quite clear that his next signings would be to improve the starting XI. This guy, based on last season, is better than Grimes and Williams. We are averaging over 6000 per game and hospitality (which is so profitable per head) is rocking. A reflection on the Club and the people who are supporting it. We have got great revenue earning facilities. Better I think than Notts County and Wrexham. We must be ahead budget.

I'd concede that we definitely need cover there but this wouldn't have been my first priority signing.

Is it your gut feel that the club is being well run at executive level?

Obviously he has come here to play football and as he can’t get a Hagen at Stockport, what better club than us in terms of size, potential and location?

I’d be amazed if he has had any such assurance from PC

I agree about no assurances. However, I'm concerned that Ty still has, allegedly, a possible charge, and hearing, hanging over him though.

Should hopefully be an excellent signing. Certainly a proven good performer at this level! Surprised they let him go.

It's cos he's on a good wage, not good enough for L2, and their manager wants to freshen things up. Good business for all parties.

If you read the Stockport message board, he’s a legend at the club, so this should be a great signing

He’s hardly played this year

I think people need to get realistic

Does anybody else think Cooky is keeping Kabby ‘under the radar’ until after the January transfer window closes?

Ash Palmer looks like the type of player that I will have no doubt cursed when he has played against us but will now be a good solid player now he is playing for us

Yep, he's in the same boat as Maguire. Any contract offer extending into next season and hopefully beyond becomes more attractive as the weeks go by.

Looks like good business to me, on the condition that he changes his first name by deed poll.

Talk of him being excellent in back 4, bit slow for back 3. I doubt he's not good enough CB for L2, from what I've seen and that includes Mansfield

i don't, i think cook has his method and priniciple of not changing a winning team, palmer won't walk straight into this team if we keep winning, nor will banks when fit, also i think he likes quigley. if the opportunity came along where kabby became the main man again upfront i think cook would play him regardless of the risk of the january window.
