Their manager.....

He seemed fairly honest in his appraisal of the game, but they didn't look to me like a side short of pace.

It didn't take him long to cotton on how good Dobra is. He'll be a marked man soon. To say nowt of Tshimanga.

And their blog man said King is 'minimum L1 standard'.

Wow.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

Your not asking for much then.

The way the side is set up with such a high defensive line even more evident with Covolan playing last night the ball over the top is always the danger and Barnet tried it a few times. He’s got the full backs both pushed up and trusts the 2 center backs 1 on 1 to deal with it. It’s not going to change as it leaves us dominant in possession which you are seeing but will leave us open to the counter with Ollie and DJ dropping in to have 2 in front to stop the counter on the floor.

I will take the way we are playing every time with the knowledge we may get caught occasionally…it’s exciting football..it’s what I want to watch…it’s what I’ve paid my money for.

Easy to see Cooky is a huge Liverpool fan as our style is very similar to Liverpool's style and I personally love it. We play with a high line, high intensity and get our fullbacks up the patch really well. To see a team play this quality of football at National League level is quite something and we should all be glad that we have this team and manager and get behind them every single game. There will be days it doesn't come off for us but with the quality we have, I don't think there'll be too many of them.

If it pays off and we go up the defensive quality will improve, albeit playing against better opposition

As I've said on another thread, the Dobra/Tshimanga partnership will destroy more NL defences as the partnership develops. Neither of them are easy to mark out of a game; Kabby has great physical strength plus speed, while Dobra has pace, brilliant control and balance, which makes him extremely difficult to contain, fairly or otherwise.

I think Dobra is a marked man already. But the best thing is they can't mark everyone, we have too many good players. They can't double up on Kabby and King as well. Quality through the side now.

The only thing we have to watch is the ball over the top which I noticed they did a lot of after instruction during the second half.

I don’t think Dobra’s quality was a secret to anyone in football. What’s odd is that he’s been unable to align that sufficiently with attitude, fitness and whatever else to be a L1 player still. I suspect he will be again within a couple of years, hopefully without moving on.

You missed out the weight of his passes, Roberts like.
Asante, Banks, now Tshimanga have all had goals laid on a plate for them, where you can tell he's done all the thinking before they even touch the ball.

Dobra is quality. My only concern was wether he’d be able to get involved and effect games, he’s undoubtedly managed that.
My biggest concern now is, will he get adequate protection from the referees not this league. Numerous fouls on him in every match we’ve played.

Agree. I thought I noticed a hint of him being tempted to retaliate after a couple of Barnet challenges. Opposition managers will note that, but I'm sure Cooky will be having a word in his ear about not getting drawn in.

Unfortunately Cooky or referees aren't in a position to stop a premeditated assault that we witnessed at Weymouth.

Yes, that's very true - Kabongo was full of praise for the quality of Dobra's pass to him, in his post-match interview.

Agreed.
Some referees just aren't good enough or strong enough at this level either.
