Won't uncollected tickets just be taken to Altrincham for pick up?

The Club's statement didn't say they would be. I've bought mine in the hope that I can either pick them up before kick-off on Friday or from Alty on the day. The Club should be clearer on the arrangements.

IT system should do that automatically

When people sign up and give email details make sure you have a box to tick allowing email communications and then send marketing emails to every mail address we have on file - then have emails ready for people who don’t renew, send regular offers, reminders etc to everyone

I get regular emails from Swansea, Derby, Burnley and West Ham because I have bought things from their online shop or tickets from them. Despite me regularly buying tickets from Chesterfield and having had a Season Ticket in the past, I have not had an email from them in a very long time. Usually get an email the day before a game to remind you to buy a ticket or how to follow the match if it's away etc, we used to do the same but don't seem to anymore. I have checked that on my account data protection settings are all ticked yes to recieving emails, SMS, post and phone calls, so that's not the issue.

Email Marketing is a full time job in most businesses so may be too much for the club to do.

Definitely a huge opportunity if they can get the time to do it, the amount they have to post the same stuff on twitter for tickets etc and a lot of their content then goes unseen.

Other aspect is they need to find a way to advertise their non footballing events to non football fans and just using the official club channels will never reach people who might want to see Lee Lard but not care about the club.

One email a week, send to all, shouldn't be that difficult when you've got "the best IT guy in the world" according to Ashley Carson.

It's not IT it's digital marketing. Although you are right, it's just a weekly newsletter which can include all these bits we have spammed on our socials haha.

Had volunteered time during Covid and then the club employed a marketing manager.

Don't we now employ two full time media lads? Can't be that difficult to set up a weekly newsletter to all emails on record. Links to the club shop / buy tickets / Lee Lard et al + any relevant news. You could even link the clubs youtube videos to the newsletter for pre match interviews and highlights. Get your heads together lads.

Nothing against Lee Lard (I've never seen him and Peter Kay was funny 10/15 years ago) but the calibre of 'events' the club now hosts is significantly lower than pre-covid.

They were volunteers and are both now part time, which is the 1st time in 5 years that Nicks's had any paid help. They basically now make 1 full time person, but for 2 people.

Part time then. Still - there is resource at the club that could sort it out.

I don’t think it’s a fair challenge. I live in London and on average last season I travelled just over 200 miles per game. That of course included some London aways which were shorter distances, but also includes trips to Curzon Ashton, Stockport, Solihull, Eastleigh etc. Oh and of course, plenty of home games. To quip that a fan based in London would just attend games a ‘tube stop away’ to rack up loyalty points is just nonsense.

It was an illustration of how unfair and unwise Cartman’s system was and not a quip. In this league half the teams are in the south east and someone could accumulate points at a rate higher than someone who actually contributes to the club bank balance with very little effort. I have been there and done it and those were in the days when we were in a league with a northern bias

Let’s face it a loyalty schemes are there to encourage customers to spend money at YOUR business, be it a supermarket or a football club. Madness to encourage punters to spend money at your rivals business. It is a cynical but that is a the fact of life.

That IT system has had major upgrades over the last 12 years and the internet/online element of it looks and behaves as it always did - clunky

You’d hope sending emails to customers on your database would be as simple as composing an email and ticking a box but as it has never happened I guess our system isn’t capable of it.

Perhaps the club has other priorities than another IT upgrade that I seem to remember costs an absolute fortune.

I don't think I've ever had any email from the club beyond those triggered by specific purchases.

Do the exiles not buy any merchandise like shirts etc? I certainly wont be spending anymore if I can never get to a game because tickets are being held back for mates.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

Some may. others might not

Anyway no reason why that should not contribute to your accumulated points total in an ‘all singing all dancing’ system
