But reading their message board they all seem to be making the same mistake..that they have brilliant L1 players who are just being badly managed…I think it’s more likely that their players aren’t as good as the supporters, the management, or indeed the players themselves, think they are. Brillliant players show they are regardless of manager or set up!

Don't agree with this at all, a decent manager can make all the difference never mind who the players are. Stockport last season were mid table and going nowhere until Challinor came in. Their players weren't mid table quality, their manager was (maybe even lower).

Quigley and unplayable won’t ever be in the same sentence for me, sorry.

I'm sure the same was said by many about Eoin Doyle.

I just think that it's cos they've got players who are getting paid silly money regardless. They have played in the football league, made a bit of a name for themselves and actually got a big money move, even though it's in National league. They are getting paid good, good money to play football. No real incentive or hunger.

I think it's the way their team is set up to get the ball into the box in the air asap. We were able to nullify it and not many will be able to do that. Grimsby passed them off the park but were vulnerable to the neanderthal high ball stuff whereas we repelled it

That's very true. I remember when Doyle first came to us I said for christ's sake don't pass it to Doyle. BUT he must have had an epiphany as he sorted himself out, changed his diet then it was light the blue touchpaper and stand back. Whether that can happen with quiggers is another story.

It was a brilliant performance on Tuesday.
Most teams in this league will sit back against us and Wrexham, and play on the counter. This really suited us.
Williams and grimes were both brilliant, it suited them having Palmer and Mullin playing up top all game to mark and battle with, rather than having to deal with the runners from teams that usually play on the counter.
Wrexham really couldn’t deal with us going forward, the chances / half chances we created in what should have been a close match, was ridiculous.
Compared to how Wrexham bullied us 2nd half last season with balls into the box, Williams, Grimes, Fitzsimmons and Quigley dealt with this superbly, especially how nervous Ross looked on Saturday.
A long way to go this season, but early signs that Cooks recruitment has been superb and enable us to do what he wants. Banks, Dobra, Horton and Oldaker all free transfers!

We’ll they’re clamouring for Ferguson for the job and one deluded poster actually thinks “they have an oven ready L1 team” ..sorry but Wenger, Fergi, Klopp and Pep couldn’t turn that lot into a L1 team.

Wonder if he will be fit for the weekend? When he first went down he seemed to be in real agony- looking like his he’s knee had been twisted/banged/sprained. Yes he recovered, but it seemed the kind of injury that may need resting.

He wanted effing for that, forgive the parlance, he went after their player when he’d already got the free kick. He frightened me to death I thought he was out for a year!

Probably true but you wouldn’t tell County until the last minute if Banks wasn’t available

He seemed to play on alright after he came back on and walked off the pitch fine.
Let's not forget that he's an ageing pro now so he probably stayed down to give the team some time to regroup cos it was at a time when Wrexham we're building up a head of steam. Broke the game up and worked in our favour.

He looks a far better player than his previous time here.
He’s matured, looks stronger and stands out a mile with ability.

If he was genuinely injured, he’d have come off and been replaced.
Little bit of ‘old manning’ for me. And done well too.
