Wrexham Game

We fully deserved that, after a strong opening from Wrexham (first 5 mins) we looked so dangerous going forwards.
As I predicted, play like we did Saturday but be a bit more clinical and the game would be won by half time, and that's how it panned out.
We look very strong all over the pitch, and with quality in the stands.
Not getting carried away, but it's a pleasure to watch this team play the Cook way

A perfect summary.

Drop Banks.😂
Outstanding team performance. I’d normally give Williams motm but that misrepresents the game. Oldaker for me. Fantastic fitness and does the simple stuff so well.

The whole team looked really fit and kept going for the full 90 mins with no sign of tiredness. Looks like Cooky has been working on the fitness because they were like rabid dogs chasing down the Wrexham players every time they had the ball for the whole match. Brilliant to see.

Grimes and Williams were absolutely superb.
Horton and King full of energy and running and so dangerous (JK needs to watch his temperament a little bit though, these dreadful refs will have no problem sending him off)
Oldaker is the perfect partner for Banks, proper workhorse and technically good too.
Mandy and Asante looked shattered, ran themselves into the ground.
As did Quigley. Deserved a goal I thought, put a real shift in. He looks a different player from last year.
A brilliant all round performance against the ‘best in the league’. The players look like they have real togetherness and look full of confidence. And we’ve got the best striker in the league sat on the bench 😂😂.
Fitzsimmons too, I forgot about him. Still worries me a bit on crosses, but he had a solid game tonight. Looks a very solid backup option to Covolan (who I think will come back in, but he’ll be on a last chance, we’d be 3 for 3 without his idiocy at Dorking).
Roll on Saturday.

There’s absolutely no reason to bring Covolan back in at all.

Just shows that you can't buy success in this league, but you can achieve it with excellent management and good recruiting - and by playing Cookball...

The good thing about the squad is that we have 5 players on 1 goal a piece. Goals coming from all over the pitch, not reliant on 1 player. Partnerships are forming. Asante/Dobra, King/Horton, Banks/DJ. Mandeville appears to be playing a free role and Quigley well he is awesome this year.
Where would Tshimanga fit in at the moment
