As long as we steer clear of these cheesy patterned shirts that are coming into vogue I’m happy with blue, green or red

This could be a thread in its own right, best CFC away kits of all time?

Should be a short thread that just has one post for the green and white striped one and thats it!

Agreed, the yellow Coalite one comes a reasonably close 2nd for me from the couple of years before but that might be purely cos it was my first kit

I think this is the first time I've seen or heard or even imagined a Town fan say this. Fair enough. Had it a few seasons now, it's the right time to rest it IMO. Overdue a white away kit for sure.

Wasn't last seasons away kit white?

It was apparently third choice and we didn't use it once. Even when it was the away kit the previous year we used it probably two or three times. Red's been our de facto second choice kit for the past three seasons, while white hasn't really been used since the EFL days.

Absolutely. It's one of the most recognisable shirts about.

Dislike us playing in red. Home kit blue shirt, white shorts and blue socks. Away kit, all white, all sky blue or green.

Asanti getting back to his best but I think Cook has him leaving. If that’s the case that would be harsh for the lad who is really doing it atm.

Cook would not be playing him if he was going. A
sante has worked hard and played himself back into the team my sources state.
He is playing him directly behind Quiggs which appears to be a good combinations so far

This is the correct answer. And white shorts at home.

Having just watched the highlights and for someone who has been critical of him in the past I have to say how well Mandeville took his goal. The move reminded me of the one which led to Quigley's goal in the play-offs. More movement and end results like that from Liam and he might just become the player I thought JS had signed.

Apart from Banks & Horton I thought Quigley & Asante looked decent too.

We tend to forget Asante was a goal-machine before he got injured and was replaced by Kaby. I can understand we might need to let him move to reduce the wage bill, but if he can prove his fitness again and add a few more goals he should command, and be worth, a decent fee.
In the meantime he's a big asset.

We cross from the edge of the box in to the space between keeper and defence with the forward playing off the shoulder. Much more effective than crossing from the by line to a box full of defenders who have had time to get back in to position. The only success I remember doing this last season was from the 2nd balls (kellermann vs Yeovil Yeovil Carline vs Bromley?)

Lasr seasons lack of success was down to the lousy quality of the crosses, not where they came from. The winger who gets to the by-line and pulls one back, in the air or on the ground, will always be the most effective, simply because the attackers are facing the goal, as with Quigley's first.
'Nowt wrong with the early ball in, but as Mandeville demonstrated, it takes a lot of skill to control a ball coming from behind you and use it effectively.

No chance he commands a big fee, he's 30 in September and his time as a 'goal machine' was ten goals in 24 games. Good player at his best though and I wouldn't mind if we kept him.

10 goals in 24 games in those times definitely qualified him as a goal machine. After what had gone before a goal every 5 games would have earned him a special song and first use of canteen sauce bottle.

We were decent today, very, very decent. Big shout out for Quiggs; he looked fit and determined. At last, the ref recognised the fact that you can't wrestle the lad to the ground without going unpunished

Same must be said for calvin Miller and Laurence maguire then, no?

We're not even playing him up front. Once Cooper is up to speed we'll have Cooper, gyasi, uchegbulam and dobra that can play on the left.

Danny rowe, jack Clarke, dobra and Mandeville can play CAM

Do we need him? Wouldn't his wages be better spent elsewhere? He'll have a lot of competition this season so can't just come off "injured" when he's playing poorly.
