My view is that you can have the best coach in the world but there's a limit to what you can achieve without excellence. Derbyshire's problem, of course, is that they don't have that much money.

hayden Kerr season is over with a side strain appaarantly
The only thing to say about last night is why didnt Scrimshaw bowl another over at the start when he had both Somerset openers ***** their pants lol
Hindsight is a wonderful thing again and at least Micky Arthur called it as it was at the end instead of trying normal coach speak

And no overseas after this game (Cartwright going back) unless Masood gets of drinks duties.

Season is becoming a bit of a farce after a promising start. Aside from the leaving it and getting bowled games i've never known a county have such issues with overseas....two bowlers break down, Cartwright been crap and apparently about to ****** off whilst for the first time in ages we get an overseas who has been great and he's picked to carry drinks in a test series probably needing an injury to someone to get a game. As and when he does come back he'll probably be completely out of nick having not played for weeks.

I think its back to the set of Bonanza for Cartwright after this match lol not that we will miss his performances really
The good news is I think Masood is back for the 50 over match with Glamorgan next Tuesday at home

Not a great position for him to be in...flying with us on a personal level but i suspect if he turns round and says he'd rather play with us than carry drinks he is shafting any chance of test cricket involvement at least short to mid term.

Very much so. He only seems to play in the Championship games though.
His second innings partnership with McKiernan, and his bowling in the Worcs second innings, has certainly turned this game in our favour.
