Derbyshire won the match and I remember John Morris hitting a big six over the TV gantry and into the churchyard behind
Back in the day the TV cameras were regular visitors to the Queens Park when the Sunday League was shown every Sunday afternoon on BBC2 but the set up was a lot smaller for broadcasting back then
The commentary box was on top of some hastily erected scaffolding with access via a precariously placed ladder. John Arlott would scuttle up the ladder closely followed by a case of wine. Post match his decent was a sight to behold generally assisted by aides placing one leg at a time on each rung. The reaching of terra firma was greeted by probably the loudest cheer of the afternoon, followed by an acknowledging resplendent bow by the great man

Haha no it’s just a username and a tribute to Englands greatest captain (in my eyes) and the most historic series on cricket history
No 46 years on the planet and Derbyshire through and through many a evening after school meeting Dad in town and getting the last session in at Queens Park still the greatest place to watch a game of cricket in my biased eyes of course 😂

If he can add an effective slower ball he could go a long way. Pleased for him. If anyone wants to go to Taunton, £43 'hospitality' tickets are on sale now. I've got a Premier Inn room provisionally booked but doubt I'll find anyone who can come!

Struggling to pick a positive out of this. Scrimshaws spell was classy

Scrimshaw has been brilliant but I reckon they are going to rack up 240 and that is way too big!
....make that 260!
