Madsen ridiculous again

He is some player. Not sure if he’s turned down offers in the past to stay, hard to believe that the amount of runs he’s scored others haven’t tried to get him.

Great chase. Hopefully means we avoid a trip to Surrey which would have happened had we finished 4th.

We can only finish 2nd of 3rd now. Did Dave Fletcher know something we don't (i.e we've already given up any hope of hosting a home QF) as he never once mentioned that today's win was effectively playing for that potential prize?

I'd rather play it at Trent Bridge, if a deal could be done, than hand our opposition home advantage should Lancashire lose later.

It definitely can’t be at Derby as the stage is going up tomorrow. They might be half hoping to finish 3rd so the problem goes away.

Or Yorkshire, in fact Durham have had more players for England in the last 10 years than Derbyshire have.

They’ll be hoping they don’t to make that problem go away. They’re not looking overly likely at the moment anyway.

Seem to remember Yorkshire having a QF game the same time headingley was hosting a test match so they played the riverside but it wasn’t Durham they played so presumably we can borrow a ground if required.

Just heard Cork mention Queens Park has been ruled out as an alternative; which I find strange given we played the puddings there 3 weeks ago! Surely it suitable. Rather here than some other counties ground.

That said it looks like it may be academic as Lancs look firm favourites to beat the Bears...

Don't think the infrastructure is there for the TV set up.

Shame it would have been good to see another full house in the park! The bears are making a bit more of a game of it now too....

I’ve missed it but apparently we’ve had a slating from the commentators on Sky about the QF and arranging this concert. However they also said we’ve had a request to play in chesterfield turned down by the ecb for some reason.

Presumably then they are all scheduled in as midweek evening games?

Yet more great ECB scheduling…T20 quarters at same time as England white ball stuff so teams losing players all over, Lancs lose 5 players to it, but Hundred gets free run of things.

Logistically it's more difficult and the timescales are the likely killer, but it wouldn't be impossible at all. I remember seeing Derbyshire televised at Jesmond against Durham as a kid before they were a first class county.

It was Durhams first home Benson and Hedges Cup match as a first class county as I recall

Derbyshire won the match and I remember John Morris hitting a big six over the TV gantry and into the churchyard behind

Back in the day the TV cameras were regular visitors to the Queens Park when the Sunday League was shown every Sunday afternoon on BBC2 but the set up was a lot smaller for broadcasting back then

No we needed Birmingham to beat Lancs to have had a chance of a home quarter final but Lancashire have won so the argument is now over

We are away to Somerset now next Saturday evening

I watched my very first T20 last night, a group of us from work walked across the road to take in the game between the Falcons and India.

Got to say I really enjoyed it. We were surrounded by fanatical Indian fans and the banter was brilliant. I’m sure it won’t be my last T20 game.

Watching Derbyshire play is a bit like watching Town to be honest

A few highs but a lot of disappointments lol
