Agreed. Real shame what happened to him last season, he’d been one of our best players. Would love to see him recover and get back into the team but can’t see it personally.

Asante was fantastic at the time, but has been pretty poor since coming back from injury. We can’t afford to be nostalgic, so get rid.

Pretty poor but still got 7 goals.

Love Asante to stay if he can reach full fitness, he is a goalscorer. Gyasi is a good young signing but only scored 5 last year in 2 struggling sides, but he can play the wider role and hopefully he will produce more quality balls into the box than Miller. I trust Asante to come back strong and score goals along with Kabby, but I hopecQuigley shows is worth this season. It will be a massive bonus if Kabby, Rowe, Clarke and hopefully Carline can bounce back, what a squad of players that would be. We need to be rid of the injury jinx so that we can finish the season as champions. COYB.

What’s changed your mind about Asante, you’ve got him as rubbish in the last post.
God I hate this league.

I think there is a probably a place for Carline in the squad, he can play full back, centre back and wing back plus that long throw is handy. If he can regain his fitness and the deal is right he is a useful player to have.

If Carline has got over his tremendous tackle at wrectum ,he's a good squad player ,his long throws ,his versatility in fitting into different positions, his goals,he's a definite keeper

Not sure he’s suited to be the back-up goalie.

I think ‘tremendous’ is the wrong word Dave, disgusting might be more apt.

'Well executed' would be more accurate, if you're part of the parkinson coaching staff.

I'll always remember game one of this season at Aldershot away. King started but Carline came on around 70 minutes to shore things up and he was superb. Won everything in the air and on the floor.

Such a good player and I'd love to see him play further part in a Blue shirt but more importantly I hope for him he recovers enough to play anywhere.

Side note but that challenge on him wasn't even given as a foul was it? I know the player wasn't booked. The first of many truly horrific decisions last year.

Correct. One of the most infuriating moments of the season. Pretty sure Carline never had a bad game for us, such a solid player.

The ref and 4th official were conveniently distracted at the opportune moment in a similar vein to which parkinson engineered Sam Morseys dismissal v bradford back in 2014.

I suppose the two assistant referees were distracted too.

We have to accept that the officiating is very poor if not blinkered at this level.

I can see Cook having a few run ins with the men in black this coming season.
