Performances were dropping before JR left. We’d gone much more direct, we even signed Quigly! The first half at Barnet was awful, and the game turned with Kabby scoring early first half. Had Kabby not been on the pitch would that have such an emphatic win?
Stockport was a good performance for sure, but we still had Kabby in the starting 11.
We assembled a squad to play 3-5-2. We’ve lost key players like Clarke and Kabby - had many other injuries and at times been forced to play an unfit Asante up top on his own…..I’m not convinced that Webb would have done much better under the circumstances
I’m not saying Cook shouldn’t be free from blame but the seeds were sown before he arrived
This.
And the 'League One football' comment was simply a reference to players who deliver a seven or eight out of ten on a regular basis.
Consistency, in other words.
As often said we've some capable of nines on occasion, yet on many others they struggle to string three passes together.
The rigidity of Rowe's approach - allied to Tshimanga's presence - compensated for that fact, however Cook trying to play with more freedom and the oft quoted injury situation exposes such shortcomings.
Okay, there're those who just wanna chuck playground names around or celebrate 'cos they share the morals of the ex regime. Surely the rest of us are capable of dissecting why a three times title winning manager has fallen so flat, though...
