Re the bit before "Mark my words..." Get a grip !
Agree with the bit at the end. I think most of us know it's now very very unlikely to be a happy end to our season.

There's a lot of people who love Denton and then there's a handful who can see he's about as mobile as Brian Potter. Since when has PC ever utilised such a player like Denton? Since when has he played hoof ball to a target man? Since when has he played it down the channels and had it whipped in to a target man? Never, never, never and never....so, why do it now? It's an antiquated tactic that belongs in room 101.
Quigley is waank but, FFS he's a better option than Denton (if you're going to persist with such Jurassic era tactics).
We have a playmaker in Whelan. Yep, he's dire at defending but he can pick a pass that others can't. Stick him behind Asante; Khan and Oye in front of the defence; King and Miller either side, and have Rowe floating. Play to a game plan and stick with it, and stick with the same players. To perform optimally, players need consistency.
I have to say, PC isn't filling me with confidence. I've spoken to quite a few Ipswich fans and they were glad to see the back of him.
As for Rowe. I said it during the game and got called everything from a **** to a prqck but, the way we set up against Chelsea was criminal. The amount of space we allowed them was bizarre; especially, considering the quality of the Chelsea players. This was a world-wide platform and the attention to detail was none existent. That's either enormous incompetence or it's almost like Rowe new his time was up and thought he'd leave the club a dog shiit through the letterbox gift....eg a proper hammering.
We haven’t agreed about much (anything)?! For a couple of years but spot on about the Chelsea game.
It was cringeworthy and a terrible Town performance (yet someone said they celebrated the goal more than any other Town goal ever)!!

Don't get this love in with Grant Smith. He looked on the right side of OK on the computer screen when he first came but did start to make a few mistakes later. He didn't over impress when he came with Yeovil. And, he's played for a few lower level clubs in his career but hasn't risen to any heights.
I agree, there are better keepers out there than Loach. There are better keepers out there than most other keepers too. And, there's better keepers out there than Grant Smith. However, are we able to attract a better keeper than what we have?

Agree with some of that but, quite seriously, Whelan has looked absolutely nothing like a playmaker since his return. He's dwelled on the ball far too long and frequently turned into trouble to lose possession before showing the speed of a Denton with little attempt to win it back.

Expectation can be a very disappointing thing and often lead to complacency.

He has done ok in that role previously and certainly couldn't do much worse than Weston is doing at the moment. He can also pass a ball and has probably scored as many goals as anybody since Cook's arrival.

Perhaps he doesn't care, of all the alleged Rowe camp followers he is the most likely to join him at Fylde.
Does he need a lift?

I'd put Grant Smith and Montgomery ahead of Loach. But those ships have gone and we've got what we've got.
I think the really issue is that Kabby is magic and often got us out of trouble when we were playing crap. The quality of the goals from half chances really made the rest of the team appear better than they were.
I'd also say Clarke being out for the season hasn't helped, one of the few creative players we had in the squad (Rowe being another)

I think we have to agree to disagree.
My main point about Maguire is that within the existing squad I see him as the only competition for a defensive midfield role and that I feel, at present, one of the current incumbrants is not pulling up any trees whilst the other always has a question mark hanging over his head as to whether or not he will be fit enough to play.
In such circumstances the fact that you think he watched runners go past him hardly matters because I'm seeing that with regularity with those that are fulfilling that role at present.

Yes, I think we agree he would make no improvement to defensive midfield. It's another case of trying to fit in "one of our own" / bro of Harry.
