The budget was high so good players are already here, he just needs to sort midfield and get em all playing his way. He might only want to stay here for 4 months anyway, if he comes at all.

I'm not totally enamoured with the possibility of PC returning and, less so, if it would be for just 4 months. I want a manager with ambition not a few months pay then do what he did in the Casa lift whatever he acheives in those months.

JR, backed by the Trust, has given us our Club back and, until Monday came, we could look on the achievements with pride. I admit, there was a feel good factor and similar pride in the football we played under PC, backed by DA (like it or not), but if JR has to be dispensed with I think the Trust need to try and appoint as squeaky clean character as possible and I'm not sure PC is that person after reading about some of his shenanigans around town.

in an ideal world yes i'd agree but are we operating in an ideal world scenario? and who out there is going to fit the description of squeaky clean character?

First and foremost the trust needs to appoint a manager who will get us promoted, squeaky clean or not. Disappointing to read stuff like the hotel lift being raised again, regrettable matter but hardly compares to the allegation against Rowe. The league games under JR has been poor for over a month with the exception of Barnet.

I don't think he's the same pisshead he was back then. I might be wrong.

As yet, I don't know what the allegation against JR is and because of that I reserve judgement.

I trust the Trust to follow the correct procedures and come to the right decisions in the matter. Everything else I read is just speculation including any thoughts regarding PC. Until we are actually looking for a new manager it is probably a little disrespectful too.

That’s enough for me. In that case, fully support the Trust 100%.

Would be 100% behind Paul Cook if he is appointed. Best Town manager IMO since supporting the club early 90s. Will get the players playing the game right and confident he would make us more offensive at home. Bar the Weymouth victory end of November, the home performances have been lacklustre for a long time, and we have unconvincingly won on occasions without ever earning it. I want to see a Town side going for it at home. With Notts, Wrexham, Stockport, Daggers et al all to play at home, it really is in our own hands and we can beat these sides with Cook’s playing philosophy.

cannot believe this thread- Paul Cook back as manager - never; remember he walked out on us; he has no loyalty to anywhere moving on when any allegedly bigger team comes along. Also didn't do well at Ipswich when Leam Richardson didn't follow him there. Perhaps Richardson was actually the brains of the partnership - doing well at Wigan!!!

i agree cook knew he was off to portsmouth when we lost to preston. So why would he have given it 100% to win the playoffs.that ship has sailed.

Cook admitted in his interview on Legends of the Spire that Allen had lost interest just before Christmas on the playoff season, hence the non signing of Johnson and the sale and non replacement of Doyle.

I think most people in Cooks position would have left under these circumstances.

What if he comes back? Are you going to continue being negative?

If you listen to the interview on Legends of the Spire, he was saying that a promoted CFC to the Championship with the squad in its current state and an owner who had lost interest was a recipe for disaster. He said that the current side at the time needed a massive overhaul to compete in that league and Allen wasn’t prepared to fund it.

If you ask Cook he would most probably have wanted that aswell. But how was he supposed to deliver that when our best players were being sold off without any arguments by the owners?
