Really hope it isnt Paul Cook. No experience at non league level what so ever, Would be a disaster waiting to happen IMO.

He does have non league experience and the squad we already have is strong enough to win this league. It’s a fantastic job for any manager to step into.

That is a great point. Should the job become available there will be no shortage of applicants.

We need to move forward not backwards.
Another young ambitious manager not
an ex manager.
Shouldn't be hard to get one should it?

If Cook was to return then the short term buzz that would give the fans would be massive. I'd bet that crowds would potentially get even higher for his first few games. I'm not sure personally he would be the right man for this situation but would be intrigued to see how it goes. Do we have players comfortable enough with the ball to implement his style of play?

My only concern would be the Morsy\Ryan types in midfield....are Weston and Oyeleke capable of doing it how he would like it played? Also where do you fit Asante and Tshimanga if he plays the 4-2-3-1 that he liked to play before.

I think we are talking a short term solution here.....enticing managers away from other clubs is a long process

& it's all about momentum

Why would it be moving backwards? Cooke will have more years experience under his belt to draw on since he was here, plus more contacts made.
The added bonus he's available now at no cost of compo, money that could be well spent in other areas.

If the worst was to happen would it suit us and cookie to go for an end of season length deal?
A new hope.

We can't appoint a manager we have one.
We can appoint a caretaker to run the show during JR's absence.
We need it quick and we need it now so we need somebody that we know and is available.

They've appointed a caretaker in the interim, the club have said Webb is running things for the time being.

Southport?

Strongly disagree, anyway. We need someone to keep the wheels on, keep the fans' faith etc. Cook wouldn't have the knowledge of players at this level which was a clear strength of Rowe, but he could keep our momentum going and give promotion a good old crack rather than just letting things slide and peter out. I'd be delighted to see him return, at least whilst we sort things out. If Rowe comes back, he has my support. If he does not, Cook would be a great option.
These go to eleven.

Admitted Forgot about Southport, However he was only there for a year so hardly qualifies as the knowledge we need IMO. If it was me i'd Give it Danny Webb to carry on momentum till the end of the season then look at Paul Cook IF we're in League 2

They announced Danny Webb would take charge. Didn't say for how long and his job title is still 1st team coach. If he is going to be the caretaker manager he needs a new job title and a club announcement.

Cook to the end of the season is perhaps the glue the club and fans need to stop everyone losing their minds and it all falling a bits.

The hysteria on here and social media that will follow any announcement on Rowes future could be very quickly nipped in the bud if we have a replacement lined up that is either Cook or someone like Wild from Halifax (who I think may be our long term option perhaps).

There's a real danger the Trust could lose the momentum gained and feel good factor around the club and ground if this starts to go tits up, appointing Cook would certainly stem that.

I'm not by any means saying I think it will happen, just saying I wouldn't be against it.
