How? Halifax and Stockport could go above us, putting us third, at worst fourth if Boreham Wood win by an 11 goal margin!

Everyone plays twice before we kick off at tea time.

Have to say the pitch looks even worse on the highlights than it did from a slightly lower seat. I'm not an expert, but this has been the best Autumn and Winter for late-growing grass that I ever remember, but the pitch has never looked so patchy. There's not much prospect of any fresh growth for a couple of months, so the flowing football might go out of the window.
Perhaps JR ought to get a couple more big donkeys and forget midfielders, especially with 5 games on it in February.
This post is only partly tongue in cheek.

We play at 5:20.

Oh yes, forgot that, apologies. I do, however think that we will still be at least third by the end of play on Saturday, and possibly higher.

Didn’t Carson sack the groundsman under his horrible tenure?

Made him redundant i believe and outsourced to a company that look after a number of pitches. That was a 3yr deal back in 2016 so not sure what has happened since - https://www.derbyshi...tches-ltd-59522

I don't think it can be the Groundsman to blame, unless he's gone mad and is actively thinning out the grass. I'd have thought it must be getting played on far too much, and there's only one remedy for that.

Barnet surface looks basically a normal grass surface ? same as Matlock and park pitches mentioned earlier. Are we currently using the electric lamp growing aid or is the electricity cost prohibitive. Now is the time of year when growing does not regenerate as quickly but you can roll the surface to give you better passing surface.
God I hate this league.
