We’d have to put in some dreadful results consistently for that not to happen.

Personally I feel sure we can make the playoffs but not the top spot for auto's.

Then we have a battle on our hands make no mistake

We’re 1/20 to finish top 7. It’s almost impossible for it not to happen.

I wish I had your faith, just basing it on what I've seen in the last 3 games

Don't be saying things like that on this board. Rose tinted brigade will not like it.

so far in the league played 11, won 6 drawn 5, lost o. it's good, is it good enough? so far yes because we're top and our away form is backing it up. tougher tests to come with both county's and wrexham yet to visit.
noticed we have a scheduled 5 game home run in feb, could be key.

Yes seeing as we have won 7 away, keep this record up and we'll win the league.

i said pre-season that we'd finish top 3 and still believe we will, it's almost impossible to really predict a top 1 finish, long long way to go yet.

It doesn't take much faith to think we won't lose half the rest of the games which is what it would take for us to not finish in the top 7.

This
I think we'd have to be pretty arrogant to think top spot was ours before the end of the season. Everyone's going to be disappointed in our last two results. Fact is were still sat at the top but we all know we're not firing on all cylinders. Stockport are creeping up , Notts County are looking on form ( backlog of matches for them may work in our favour) . At the end of the day if we're gonna win this league it's getting the points off our nearest rivals. That means lifting our game. Personally I don't think Quigley was the man to bring in ( I'm no scout) let's see what happens in the rest of January. So far so good, FFS it could be worse.

It's not rose tinted when you don't want to criticise everything possible about the team.

We're already sat there. JR said there will be ups and downs. If we sat 8 places below where we are now then I'd be fuming. But fact is were top of the league.

We won't be by the time we play again.

Or stop training on it!

I stand to be corrected but I’m pretty sure when Cook was in charge the pitch was an absolute no go area for anyone other than the groundsmen, erm staff, until match time came around.

Agree. The army of Waltons who have suddenly appeared as soon as we fail to win a couple of games, seem to have forgotten that none of our title- challenging rivals will win all of their remaining games. I really hope we're soon back on the winning trail because one Walton was more than enough; another twenty of them crawling out of the woodwork as soon as we slip up, is too much to put up with.

Yep, I was looking at that. Moreover, at that time, a win at Eastleigh may well not put us back at the top of the pile.

How? Halifax and Stockport could go above us, putting us third, at worst fourth if Boreham Wood win by an 11 goal margin! Can't happen like that anyway, because Halifax and Boreham Wood play each other on Tuesday, so either one or both of them will drop points. I think the doomsters are forgetting that our title rivals still have to play each other, so they will inevitably drop points.

We are capable of dislodging them. They're peaking too early; we're having our wobble but theirs is sure to follow. I reckon they'll run out of steam and we'll overtake them at the death. Which was nice (I miss The Fast Show) :D
