Probably something to do with there not being a frost. Just an idea, mind.

Another one for the list.

'There is no fire sale'.

'Turner's running rings around and keeping all you high flying accountants in the dark'.

'Saunders' critics are just whingers, moaners, wrist slitters and kids who'll change their minds after a win'.

'Carson's doing an impossible job in the face of hysterical abuse'.

'There've only been a few clerical errors'.

And now, after a morning when it was white-over...

..'There was no frost'...
Never underestimate the stupidity of people

If that is the case, I can confidently say that we won’t be winning this league.
Or making the top 3 either.

What is the big issue with the pitch? Overuse? Poor management of it?
I’ve never seen it looking so bad in January.

Rowe blamed the contract with Sheffield United youth and women’s teams using it, others blame Rowe for training on it. Considering we have hardly played on it since the start of December something is sadly wrong. Anyone know how long this effing contract is for?

Went to Matlock in midweek, the pitch looks so much better.
Accentuate th Positive, eliminate the negative

The pub pitch at the end of my road looks better than it!

Training on it seems madness if it’s being overused anyway. Surely it has to be one or the other.

On a dissolutioned walk back to the pub, I considered other occasions when such high pre match expectations had been dashed. Bizarrely my mind went back to boxing day '67 having a 100% home record we faced bottomish(?) of the table Workington and in front of 16,000 failed to score, 0 bludy 0.
What did we do? signed the aging Bill Currie from the scabs (I know they weren't real scabs then) Well we all know what transpired next, well those of a certain age will.

I'm glad I don't believe in history repeating itself
Derbyshire is Derbyshire
Yorkshire is Yorkshire

Never the twain shall meet.

Recall it well. Thought I was going to see my very first Spireites promotion in over nine years of watching us. Petered out to nothing. Probably when my football cynicism was born.

For the sake of about half a dozen games in Dec and Jan, they could go on as a matter of course. Especially since they only take two people twenty minutes to do, apparently.
It's nice to be able to Trust again.

There’s been a big shift with the bookies in a week. Us and Stockport have swapped prices to win the league - 11/4 and 11/8 now.

I would cancel the contract with the Sheff lot - I'm sure there's a clause somewhere. That was an awful surface.

....or, at the very least, tell them they have to change their schedule.

I've no doubt that Rowe's irritation here is that it shouldn't be his job to ensure that the pitch is in optimum condition. He's got enough to think about without that responsibility.

He said the pitch condition was unacceptable. Either somebody is not doing their job properly or the department is inadequately funded.

If he’s the type of manager I though he was, he’d hold his hands up high and admit he got it wrong today.
Wrong team selection.
Wrong positions - totally stitched Asante up.
And wrong tactics. We didn’t get where we are on the league but limping the ball forward at every opportunity.
He picks all of those so for today no one else is to blame.
We rightly praise him when he deserves it, which he has countless times.
Today, he deserves criticism.
He got it wrong. Simple as that.

It would be interesting to see the responce from this board if all the chances today were put away.
Right team, Right tactics, He got it right, simple as that.
We had enough chances to win 2 games. I would be more worried if we were not creating anything.
But we all see it differantly, and, I enjoyed the battle if not the result.

Don’t know how you could look at Asante wandering around in midfield clearly not knowing what to do and think he got it right. I also didn’t see this plethora of chances you allude to.

Would agree I must have missed the chances. Their keeper made a great save from Williams but apart from that was rarely troubled. Many called out the selection before the game too. Asante in midfield was mind blowing. Anyway, we are top and move on.

I meant to say IF the chances were put away, then, who i had replied to might have seen it differently.
Just sayin. Boi.

World renowned expert? When was that?

Always pleasing to get a few misquotes from my number one fan. Great to see how carefully you study my posts, though if they led to you ceasing to mangle the English language it would be appreciated.
Unfortunately I can't remeber a single one of yours, but I'm sure one or two must have been quite nice.

Didn't see that many chances at all , their goalkeeper was hardly over worked!

I agree he wasn’t over worked but there were quite a few half chances that dropped lamely into his hands.
