Was good to see how Asante won the flick on for his eventual goal at Chelsea. If those 2 can become the partnership that the potential indicates then we don't need Rowe in all honesty. Early days yet but could be something there.

the thing about rowe is he can conjure up a goal out of nothing with his shooting range, opponents know it so keep a player on him which opens up space, he's sometimes hard to pick up as well as he kinda plays anywhere he likes and an obvious threat from set pieces, wish him well, hope to see him soon.

If the Asante Tshimanga partnership blossoms that will be great but you cannot just rely on your two first choice strikers. They can get injured, run out of steam during a match, get suspended or whatever. At least one more striker/goal scorer is the bare minimum both to put pressure on the first two to continue performing and be there when required to give them a rest. It's same with every position and that's why it's a squad game as we should well know considering the injuries we have suffered this season.

He might be he might not, but I read waiting for the “green light” as a phrase that could have been used since virtually day on of his issues.

.....unless I missheard, JR said that Croll is also good enough to play at the base of midfield. If that's true it's an understated accolade in terms of his versatility and ability.

Rowe is quality. In terms of actual ability, can't think of anyone since the likes of Roberts and Clucas that come close.

Well for starters, who was the last genuine threat we had from direct free kicks? And not just "wonder if he'll test the keeper" but with there being a decent chance of a goal? Admittedly he hasn't played as much as I'd hoped and I'm sure we'd all like more evidence. Fingers crossed the chap is okay and we get the chance.

Green light or not, DR will have some catch up to do before even being considered for first team duties. That subs bench has to cater for all eventualities and I'd be hard pushed to tell one of those currently playing that they don't feature in the match day squad.

true but if available i think he'd make the bench ahead of payne who's pitch time has reduced considerably over the last half or dozen games. add to that carline and denton both scheduled for a feb return, i'd assume they are back in training to some degree, feb not that far away.
