Have to say this was my first thought. We've been down that road before, and an enhanced, 3-year contract was the result, if I'm not mistaken. CFC, run by a trust, is solid and dependable, without being flash. Southend is a basket case with Martin in charge of it. In this day and age, anyone who gives the former up for the latter wants his bumps feeling. Let's make sure we've got Webb bolted down.

Without being harsh….Rowe has achieved very little, ex keeping us out of NLN and has been granted a seemingly large recruitment budget. Currently I’d say we are a better proposition than Sarfend so he’d be better off proving his mettle here.

If he uses it to try for another increased contract I’d say no.

If the Mansfield fan wanted to wind you up, he could have said that we've sized-up Clough as Rowe's replacement.

Rowe is going nowhere. He will almost have to go back a season. He took over us when we were near bottom last season to get us to the playoffs and then start building towards this season. He isnt going to leave to go there and do the same thing this season with them to then have to build another team for a shot next season. That is pointless. Rowe loves it here, he says so every week about the fans and the club. He is going nowhere.
