J Rowe will go soon enough but I'd be surprised if it will be to Southend. He'd have a big mess to contend with, there. Better to keep impressing with us and take a chance higher up at less of a basket case club, surely.

No, you're right. He's not stupid so I retract that. I'd like to think he would see us as a much better short, medium and long term project than Southend but you just never know.

Webb gets a mention in passing, they seem to think there is something in it as not even the Mail would make up a rumour about Southend trying to nick the Chesterfield manager. Stuff about Rowe starts on Page 14...no idea what names got a mention on the previous 13!

The down side to all this, is that it puts seeds of doubt in the players minds and effectively that can get reflected in unsettled performances on the pitch. Its the last thing we want going into a FA Cup game on Saturday and a NL promotion chase. The Club and JR need to sort this sharpish with some form of response/statement for the sake of the fans concern/ community/ playing/coaching staff/ admin and the club in general.

James Rowe has literally been allowed to build his national league dream team here. The love in with Southend hasn’t lasted long. Saying that though I don’t really trust Rowe and smells of another pay rise.

He might decide another rescue act might be easier to achieve than promotion and that it would enhance his reputation. That and a possible pay rise would be the only reason he’d leave for Southend that I could fathom

Club have turned down the approach so I guess the only way this goes anywhere is Rowe forces the issue. My gut reaction is that this is a story coming primarily from the Southend side, who are trying to show ambition after a difficult period.

Same, sort of mentioned previously that it seems like Martin is trying to give a show of making an effort to get\keep fans on board. They'll probably end up with Martin Allen or Harry Kewell!
