Surgery today according to JR. Won't see him until probably April. Unreal bad luck with injuries. Town's best two players last season in Asante and Carline both wiped out by long term injuries. **** take.

The upside I suppose is we have Jeff King here now and this is his chance to really kick on.

Thats bad news. Wish Carline well and a speedy recovery. JR must be deflated as our injury woes continue. We do seem to have more than our fair share of bad luck surrounding injuries. Hope he recovers soon for himself, the fans and the club.

5 months ufft. That’s horrible. Think we’re close to seeing a reinforcement or two brought in because if King gets injured or needs a rest we’ve got nobody in the RWB slot. Carline’s contributions in terms of goals and assists are great for a wing back so huge loss for a long period of time. Groan.

Sickening news, one of our best players out for 6 months. Feel really sorry for him as his commitment to play is unquestionable.

Cover on the right is a MUST now.

Huge blow.

3 assists and 2 goals for us so far this season, big low going forward as well as defensively. Time for King to step up

Rowe said this morning he wont be bringing anyone else in as it stands. Also says he cant believe it wasnt a red card as it was a horror tackle on Carline.

We just don't seem to do run of the mill injuries. Poor lad, his head must be in a bad place right now. Speedy recovery to him

I can’t recall having so many out with such long-term injuries at the same time before.

Massive blow adding Carline to the list.

Just getting my head round this.....
So the horror tackle caused a hairline fracture which wasn't diagnosed at half time, and Carline went back out?

Then the knee collapsed in the second half but not because of a tackle?

Is that what happened?

That seems to be what Rowe is saying. The tackle happened in the first half. When Carline went down in the second half I assumed it was a separate incident which I didn't see (a ball had gone into the box and been cleared, we were housed at the opposite end of the ground so assumed he'd been caught). Seems odd that he was allowed to come out for the second half - any thoughts CPS? Should this have been picked up on?

I’m a bit confused.

Rowe made it sound like it was diagnosed as a hairline fracture from a bad tackle in the first half in which the Wrexham player should have been sent off. He then said it collapsed and turned into a complete break. He said the surgeon had never seen such an injury in football, just in a traumatic accident like a car crash. Sounds like we completely ****ed up, if what he said is correct.

From what I understand Carline WANTED to come out and play after half time, but he should have been stopped.

It must have been noted by the surgeon that the hair line fracture had occured before the collapse of the knee. There is no way Carline would have been sent out if the correct diagnosis had happened at half time.

Rowe seemed to indicate it was the severity of the chalkange the caused the extensive damage. What is a collapsed knee anyway a full break, ligaments or both

Sounds as though he reported a painful knee at half time but thought he could carry on. Fairly routine situation but this time it was the hundred to one injury. Without an x-ray in the dressing room it wouldn't have been picked up.

Not necessarily as a patella fracture is very very rare in sports (only really ‘common’ in road cycling).
But if confusion on what is being reported. One report says hairline fracture another in Derby Rag says like a fatal car crash (!) and knee was severed.

No idea what this means (prob just manager not listening to the physio and over dramatising).

The fracture isn’t an issue really but as the knee has ligaments and muscles dependant on it if there was big trauma to the quads particular then that becomes an issue. Won’t be ACL/PCL damage in this case which is good.

May not have been too much swelling at half time and adrenaline may have masked the initial pain - also lost tests on the knee pitch side wouldn’t indicate a patella fracture so wouldn’t blame the physio for him returning for 2nd half
