He'll still end up top scorer in the league, even if he misses a couple of game.

Going by this post though, no brainer really and good move from the club. Even if a league 1 side did come in for him, he ain’t gonna go cheap now that we’ve got him tied down for 3 and half years!
New owner this season, running a tight ship apparently.

Whelan seems to fall into the same category and the goalkeeper Smith looks plenty good enough to go two divisions higher too, as does Gunning.

Only issue with Gunning is that he’s been a bit of a hot head at times throughout his career and he may well flip in a game that really matters.

The guy at Weymouth who scored against us seemed a little gem.

I'm not worried at all. Sometimes these things are blown out of proportion. Roy Keane was sent off 10 times in 425 games for Utd; that's an average of once a season. 13 in his entire career.
Just for comparison, Sergio Ramos has been sent off 26 times and doesn't seem to carry the same level of infamy.
I'm pretty sure that all their respective managers never thought they can't sign/play/trust them. Let Gunner be Gunner. I think he'll be fine...famous last words... if he gets one now, I promise to raise my head above the parapet and say I got it all wrong.

He will not have got the nickname Mad Gav without good reason I would think but lets leave it to the manager to how he manages him as he has done before at Gloucester

At face value this one's more straightforward, though. A prime asset attracting attention made more expensive for any interested party.
But surely it's all about enforcing these contracts.
The last five years have seen a shambolic exodus of anyone and everyone attracting a punt. Only for Allen to then insist others stayed, proving it was about intent at the top all along. Not forgetting the five percent going Turner's way, too. So now the Trust have to prove they've learned from that - especially as their choice of CEO oversaw much of it - and demand contracts are adhered to unless our asking price is met.
Why any of our employees would wanna leave a Town clearly heading upwards - and capable of competing with most in the lower leagues - for a far more uncertain future is beyond me, mind...

He acknowledged that in one of the recent interviews and said he’s a different/changed man I think. Happy to take his word for that.

Not forgetting the splendour of living and working in God's own county.
This is all about managing risk properly.
Difficult to pronounce on its success until after the event, but I think they've dun rate.
