Defensively they were a tough side. I thought it had nil nil written all over it, we sorely needed a partner up front for Asante, and when he got one we hit the net. Surprised JR waited that long to bring Tyson on. Great win against a solid side.

EXACTLY what i texted my mate thought they were there for the taking asante ok got his goal layed on by tyson , why leave it 12 minutes from the end to bring a strike partner on to help asante up front , look how it happened as soon as hed a strike partner , didnt expect 45 minutes but thought tyson would have got30 minutes , that could have easily fizzled out 0-0 , all good in the end but please play 2 up top keep asante in the box

Massive win that. Got to give Rowe alot of credit for making 5 changes. That was a big gamble which paid off. Tyson and Asante could be a real partnership. Another clean sheet, scoring late on all good habits. Eastleigh are a good side. First defeat in 8 for them. I'll say it again massive win.

Clear handball. Should have been booked

Ref preferred to book Maguire for telling him that was a mandatory booking for their player handling the ball into the net ie cheating.

And both of those have been given contract extensions by Rowe!
It's nice to be able to Trust again.

Tyson needs to be used sensibly, a bit like Jack in his twilight. Use at home from the start and take off with half an hour to go, and away for the last 30 mins but together they will be dangerous in this division.
A new hope.

lets hope Tyson can keep fit and help Asante out up front. Clarke isnt a patch on CROPPER but Jak needed a rest. Good win but a bit frustrating to watch with only one up front. I was impressed with Kerr he looked steady at the back, gunning was my motm.

In fairness to Clarke he wasn't playing on the right of midfield or as a RWB so how you can compare him to Cropper I don't know. Carline is better than Cropper though with his all round game.

Well done boys👍⚽️..great win and well deserved. I enjoyed that ..thought we defended magnificently...Gunning was immense...was slightly worried that all the changes may disrupt the style but they’ve obviously worked hard at this in training. After first 10 mins or so we warmed into the game and controlled it all the way. Don’t think they can have any complaints..it looked like they were growing to block everything...our finishing was poor and too many touches at times in and around their box but Tyson showed his quality when he came on and AA got his goal...we kept the ball well and had good passing moments throughout the game..the final ball being an issue as the support runners have to come past AA when playing this system...Whelan did it and what a good game he had..glad he’s back...Young Clark got himself around a played better tonight but still looks lightweight ..Smith had a steady game as did Weston...Carline and Wittle didn’t get down the flanks too much although they had their moments. New lad Kerr was steady at the back and grew into the game...optomistic that we can make several changes each game to rest players if tonight is anything to go by....be interesting to hear the managers thoughts post match...we got past a decent team in good form tonight and looked by far the better team. Bring on Saturday against another side who have completely turned their season around...if we can get another 3 Points we will be sniffing around the top10 ...half the season gone now I think....this is well doable..as soon as they decide the Dover situation it will probably look even tastier.

That was a really enjoyable game tonight against a side sitting in the play offs who we’ve absolutely mullered all game (very similar to Aldershot 0-0). Really impressed with us tonight, 1-0 flattered them massively.

Big credit to JR for going big with the changes and freshening things up. Great to see Whelan back in the side and Gunning was brilliant at CB, a proper leader and captains performance.

Get in there!!

An excellent result. We also found out that:
Gunning is a good centre half, but far more important, a commanding captain and organiser.
We have good strength in depth (I was particilarly impressed with Martin Smith)
We are likely to bounce back after defeats

That is the only issue I had with the referee, allowing a ‘hand of god’ incident to go unpunished. He allowed the game to flow and another fussier referee would’ve penalised us for winning the ball back so often

IF we can get a win against an in form Yeovil we will start getting somewhere as a lot of the teams above us all play each other so we could make significant gains on some of them

Clean sheets and 1-0 wins galore, Rowe is shaping up to be our first proper manager since Johnny Duncan!

Indeed. James no goals just doesn’t have the same ring to it though

I suppose that depends on your definition of the world ‘proper’.

He’d best improve his knowledge of players up the pyramid first.

What we’ve done here is fulfill his complete wish list of players for Gloucester - the EFL will be a much bigger challenge. One I’m sure he will be up to, but each step up becomes harder and harder to find quality you can afford.

That’s where a proper scouting network comes 8in, knowing kids released from big clubs who are hunger and capable at L2 and L1 not just non league.

I’m not doubting the managers abilities, not at all, just saying there’s a massive gap between the likes of L1 and the national league north. And his little black book of players will need to be completely overhauled in time. I’m sure he knows that more than we do.
A new hope.

How do you know his knowledge of those players in league 2 and 1 isn’t already there?

Just because he’s only signed players from this league/the one below doesn’t mean that’s the limit of his knowledge? It’s just that realistically we can bring the best players from the league below in, whereas we’re obviously not going to be able to attract the best league 2 and 1 players whilst were in this league are we !?

Agree on your point r.e. Scouting network, as thats something that’s been an issue at this club long before Rowe came in, but with this man at the helm I’m certain that this process will already be underway and in the works for us to benefit from for years to come
