When Phil Walker was the expert summariser he intimated that Kev Davis is his agent. Perhaps he was just putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5 due to Kev's involvement in the interview.

I think the Board has a duty to take this seriously. A much more lucrative incentive based contract can't be too difficult to envisage or cost out. I'm not too worried though. JR has a vast knowledge of the NL and I'd bet he can name every player who could play in L2. It's a completely different kettle of fish acquiring knowledge of the rest of the pyramid.

Can’t believe people are rattled by a poxy Daily Mail report - no wonder the country is where it is

Especially when one reads the clubs financial report out today.
Words to the effect that the Directors are confident they can halve the wage bill.

That could just be offloading Weston!

AC told me Davies was his agent citing Pemberton had told him, I didn't believe him as it was presented to undermine the decision making process.

Likewise this report could be based on fake info to undermine the clubs progress under Rowe.

I think it would be a too subtle and clever a stunt for AC

JR is going nowhere. He has built a team which he is confident will get promotion to the 2nd league. Why would he want to go elsewhere unless it was a top club in the 1st or Championship.

This is the problem when any club is doing well, Managers and players get noticed. Asante is another one being watched, clubs are hovering from what I am hearing. He won't go unless again it is a 1st or Championship club.
We need to tie him down with improved contract aswell.

Don't listen to the papers they have made an educated guess which is probably correct. Would not you want to try and tie the best in form manager in the league down. Makes sense.
People outside the club would luv nothing but to derail what is happening at Chesterfield. I would not even give it air time on the forum, thats what they want and then other forums pick it up and it just snowballs.

Encouragingly it does appear Colchester are giving the Caretaker every chance to get the job permanently.

L2 Colchester in the Far East wastelands or a blossoming CFCS in the North Mids football heartlands, albeit National League....no brainer.

"Always a sign that things are suddenly right with your team when you see stories like this. Not entirely welcome but inevitable. Bottom line for me - by staying, James Rowe can achieve as much/ more with Chesterfield as with those L1 & L2 admirers" https://t.co/5Z2JhMKfbm

It's not wastelands for him, it's home but I agree it should be too small a club to tempt him to give up on what he's started here

Yes with a closed transfer window he could easily have a relegation on his CV whilst seeing us swap places.

I'm also appreciative but am very sceptical about the educated guess claim from a national media reporter given he has previously shown no interest in covering us.

This very much smacks of someone leaking that discussions are taking place or more likely hinting that they should, whilst advertising Rowe's good form and potential to improve a negotiating position by giving it national reach.

Not sure what what the geography has to do with it as he's from Ipswich.

People. Were making National newspapers on almost a weekly basis now, I'm taking it as a compliment that even the nationals think we're a big enough club to write about still.
It stinks of somebody trying to rock the boat some more and thanks to our friend The Whistler we seem to have a little clarity on what JR is thinking.
Onwards and upwards.
Life goes on. Whatever happens.
