I read £800k in the New European dated 2/12/19. Of which a chunk could have been his Telegraph (?) column which I think he has given up. Cant find a breakdown of where it comes from though as I would have thought as PM he would be barred from much working income so it could be royalties from previous work or property income.

Imagine what the tax is on that....

Why, because he has a different view to you and others? Yes some of his lines may be confrontational and I’m sure are said for a reaction, like a lot in this board do, but he’s allowed his opinion isn’t he?
He offers an opinion without ever calling other posters personally or offensively something many on here can’t say they do!

Saw that one, dated about same time as other so clearly there is some guesswork.

But then if I could I would. My contract says I have to get clearance for any other work and if I do paid non Exec work in company time, they get the money....

Not even a rumour

While enjoying a drink in a bar or restaurant still seems like a distant prospect for people in the UK, pub chain Wetherspoons has said it plans to reopen its pubs and hotels in June.

Bosses said they hope to benefit from the chain having larger pubs premises than its rivals.

"Wetherspoon pubs are substantially larger than average, and most have outside facilities. The company believes these factors are likely to assist if social distancing measures apply," said a statement.

Wetherspoons has 850 pubs in the UK which have been closed since the government introduced new measures in March to try to stop the spread of coronavirus.

The government has not yet outlined any plans to ease lockdown restrictions for pubs and restaurants.

Well not fact obviously -what is at the moment? - but 3 bar chains have been told to make plans for a possible opening around then.

Ah, so he thinks he can influence govt policy by saying he is going to do it... I think the phrase I saw said in or around June... which might be July..

I hope that the govt stick to their guns on what is right and dont listen to ****s like him who are clearly more concerned about profits.....

I can tell you now, our bars will open when it is safe to do so - which might be a while after the hotel does....

There's virtually no chance Spoons or any pubs will be open until way after June in my opinion.

Nowt... straight into an offshore tax haven, like most rich folk. Talking of which, I'm personally loving the Beckham's taking a rate bashing; it's been a long time coming.

Martin's just a crass attention seeker who's already proven himself a villain of the pandemic.

Okay, if he's stupid enough to wish a dose on himself then fine - but to once more treat his workers with contempt? To put profit before people?

Open if he wants, but it'll be a long time before I'll put money in his pocket again...

What did you make of Cummings influence in the SAGE meeting, getting the pubs shut within two days of the meeting whilst the science seemed to be dithering?
