To have the season starting later in the year would not be on a level playing field as squads would change, even managers.
Sorry Barrow, but this a freak occurrence and just your luck.

I wonder what those projections might look like in the leagues from the top down ss compared to current standings?

I think we might be down on that one.

teams would have differing amounts of home/away games.

They haven't already gained promotion if the season turned out to be void....it never happened basically if 46 games not completed.

Yes +/- 1 game. The point I'm making is teams who might have played the bottom club twice and won have banked an easy 6 points, whereas others haven't.
I know it's a hypothetical situation, but so is saying that team x would/wouldn't win their next 5 games, and that's a lot harder to quantify.

We won’t void the season. Almost certain of it. Too many implications to do so.

True, other than a longshot chance of play offs I guess. There's no real solution that would make all parties happy.

I think as we are on the equivalent of a war footing, they could live with that.
Anyway, the 2 season combine isn't an option. I've never seen it mentioned and I doubt whether our representative has had the gumption to mention it.

They had gained promotion prior to the season being void. At the point the decision was made to pull the plug, they had a P next to their name.
The voiding of the season effectively reversed the promotion, not denied it, I suppose.

It isn't. Somebody said on here that no team goes from being relegation to promotion candidates in one season. I'd guess it would probably be a neutral position for us. Anyway, it's academic.

Is gumption the correct word
