National League

Just a thought and someone has probably mentioned it before. Has the NL gone a lap too early with their cancellation? If the Premier League and EFL opt to finish their seasons starting let's say July 23 and that takes 6 weeks or more with cups, play-offs and Europe. With even a tiny close season 2020/21 may not start until October. That is a very long time for clubs like ours to have no matchday income. If the main leagues are playing, so should we.

They probably did, and now they're probably dragging their heels because they've realised they need to adhere to whatever the FL do.
Current dates being worked too are to have the seasons wrapped up and concluded by July 31st to we start the first weekend in September.
I still think this feels very ambitious but think more will be revealed this week, and it's all still very much reliant upon the government relaxing lockdown measure similar to how Italy have and us getting proper testing in place.

Whatever they vote for is likely useless if the FL continue with their plans to resume and Stevenage (+Bury) need to be replaced. That will have a knock on effect further down the pyramid.
The NL need to be careful or the FL could turn round and decide to scrap the 2 up 2 down rule or whatever and make it really difficult to get out the NL as it used to be.
Barrow regardless of what happens should be playing FL football next season as the Bury situation opens the door for someone, and it should really be Barrow.

with 8 games to go & a 4pt gap no one can say it should be barrow.

Both have their positives and negatives, and both will lead to a lot of moaning from varying sides.

You're right of course. But if the NL turned round and said that then the EFL would lose their mind at the prospect of no relegation and a 23 team league next season and likely turn their back on the NL as much as possible, which in the long term wouldn't be good for anyone outside the FL.
Just going to have to bite the bullet and accept these are extenuating circumstances and a common sense approach needs to be had. It's not going to be 100% right, it's not going to please everyone but it'll have to do.
NL won't finish the season, the FL probably will. If they'd have an agreed plan on this we'd be in a better place, but doesn't look like the FA or anyone has stipulated that so they've gone off on a tangent.

I suggested this a couple of weeks ago.
In the event of a season being declared void, everything from that season is erased from record. It never happened.
Therefore, surely Bury are no longer guilty of failing to fulfil fixtures in the season that did not exist?

What about the team from Jersey and Vauxhall Motors? Both mathematically promoted in their respective divisions prior to the season being declared void. They haven’t completed the season so is it right they are denied promotion even though they had already gained it?

is it right? probably not.
nothing is clear cut.
to me if you cant complete the season in the same conditions that you started it then its void.
this applies further up the pyramid; talk of neutral grounds with no crowds, 5 substitutions etc makes it all a farce.

if you go for the 2 season combine then the second season for many teams would be a waste of time promotion wise.
