The pitch had already been taken up.
Just remember Notts are a big club,to big for this league if you listen to their fans
(Weve heard that before somewhere).End of the day the seasons finished they will just have to get on with it
.

Retirement for Jalal presumably.

They're living in cloud cuckoo land if they think that's going to happen.

Notts County statement, they live in hope there will still be some sort of play offs

Including for promotion and relegation spots.
I say we dig up our pitch and let go out of contract players and then we can’t possibly enter any play offs.
Oh, we have.

Wonder how many times you have seen him play v the times CPS has seen him?
A good many more I’d wager.

Me too, I’ve quite possibly seen every single game he’s played for us minus the pre season games. Everyone on this board is an idiot though other than CPS because he works in football. Easier to just agree with him to keep the trolling at a lower level and I won’t be getting into any petty arguments with him either.

You don't have to agree with him. Just take things he says with a pinch of salt and then ignore him.

If JP stays I think the lad from Notts County might have been on a bit of a promise and, of course, we still have Coddington who should be back to fitness whenever the new season starts.

I believe Jalal was considering retirement before he was offered a 2 year contract by Mad Dog.

Not a surprise about Buchanan as I thought he already had a further year on his deal.

Yep, I remember reading a quote from Jalal saying he was considering retirement before we came calling. I think Coddington is good enough to be our number 1!

Jesus who rattled your cage.
Every year for last 3 relegation or relegation threatened season the same debate has happened with arguments from fans to keep each player.
Some would do wel in a better team for sure but on the whole a player will find his level.
Hence the opinion there’s better out there.

Get off your high horse

I would release every player other than possibly Fondop (his attitude worries me) and Hutchinson is probably worth another look, he looked very bright in the very short time he had on the pitch towards the end. I’ll say again though, Buchanan is a good player for this division.

I think part of Harrogates complaint will be they have Barrow to play which PPG wont take into account. This said normally two are promoted so would they promote the top two with no scope for playoffs to be played? Will the EFL accept two clubs when they could effectively take Barrow without having to relegate anyone on their part to cover the spot left by Bury.

Be interesting to see what clubs and where kick up a fuss over things. Whatever solution is taken a club is going to be put out someway or another so we'll see who can do a Partick was it and just take it on the chin and get on with things. Football will have been delayed enough without clubs delaying things with legal action to get their own way.

Barrow were by no means guaranteed automatic promotion. I thought they were beginning to slip a bit and apart from the other teams they had to play didn't they have a little away 6 pointer game against Harrogate coming up as well as having to face a CFC side who were picking up points at promotion levels? With most teams having 24 or 27 points to play for nothing can be argued to have been guaranteed.

However, if every Club in the EFL and the NL survive to next season surely any promotions from the NL will first of all depend on decisions taken by the EFL. I'd go as far as to say that if several EFL Clubs go under, or cannot provide the financial guarantees required to finish next season, promotion to the EFL might be by invitation only.

I cannot see how any form of play offs can be fair when teams taking part will have different squads to those they had in the main body of the competition.

I'm told "we are not permitted to officially announce the retained list until after the season has finished. However the manager has spoken to several players as it is only fair that we should give them advanced notice if they are not going to be retained. Now the season has finished we are asking if we can officially release this list and formally write to the players.

We await a response. Last season we issued the list on 8th May but that now seems madness. We have also spoken to some players regarding offering them new 1 year contracts but nothing agreed yet"

You wouldn't offer Sharman anything then?

I know he’s only young still and maybe he’d do as a squad player for now or maybe even be loaned out but I wouldn’t want him starting our first game of next season to be honest. Certainly not a bad player though. If Pemberton is serious about only wanting 18 odd players next season then I just feel we might be carrying him a bit. Same goes for Amantchi, clearly a talented lad but I’d let him go..
