On this occasion I've no problem allowing Bozo a back seat. He's still overcoming a life threatening illness and shouldn't be expected to return.
This latest episode of a civil servant clearly being brow beaten into retracting his story is yet another example of an incompetent regime putting their own asses before the truth, though.
They first met accusations of political dogma trumping PPE procurement by blaming a missed e-mail. Which elicited memories of Darren Brown's 'shredded faX' excuses. Then we were told they did infact reject an EU approach, as confirmed by both a knight of the realm and our European friends. Next we saw Hancock stand in front of the cameras and state, totally out of the blue and amidst an unclear timeline, that we DID join the scheme. Only for the EU to once again tell us the opposite.
And now the whole thing's being brushed aside with 'Ah well, it's not secured any gear anyway' kinda dismissals.
Bozo's quite rightly recuperating. However just as Allen's ultimately responsible for the environment on Sheff Road he's responsible for the environment on Downing Street...
