Whilst I wouldn't go as far to say he 'deserved' to catch it, there's a certain irony in the fact that he did.

Make no mistake; the quotes and sources in the hard hitting piece (wait for the lies, denial and scapegoating to start, though) will've happened with the consent of someone in the cabinet. Perhaps they themselves supplied them, infact.

So as said above, Gove's support this morning for the Johnson he himself described as 'unfit to lead' sounded increasingly hollow with every passing word...

Spent two weeks tupping his girlfriend at a country retreat while this wa going on according to the Mirror

Don’t think this is new news as I remember eyes being raised at the time.

I'd like to know exactly what folk think the WHO have done wrong, my friend.

And that's a genuine question, not some sort of provocation or taunt.

Because whilst it's very likely the Chinese supressed the truth for quite some time the WHO could only issue guidelines based upon that limited information.

Then when the Chinese placed hundreds of millions under lockdown the WHO altered it's stance accordingly and advised 'Test! Test! Test!'.

Advice which has proven crucial in saving countless lives.

Since then nothing I've seen of the WHO has appeared political. Infact they're the very epitome of an apolitical institution being used as the proverbial political football. They even met Trump's petulant teenager style tantrums with measured diplomacy.

Be interesting to see how those currently excusing Johnson's mob with 'No one could've prepared/guided by experts/let's not politicise this' statements judge a body of whom exactly that can be said, too...

Town on at 1.50.

Woops, sorry wrong board.

The idea that the prime minister skipped meetings that were vital to our response to the coronavirus, I think is grotesque."

He added: "The truth is that there are meetings across government, some of which are chaired by the health secretary, some of which are chaired by other ministers, but the prime minister took all the major decisions.

"I think that anyone who considered what happened to the prime minister not long ago, nobody can say the prime minister isn't throwing heart and soul into fighting this virus.

"His leadership has been inspirational at times and I think that actually nothing is more off-beam than the suggestion that the prime minister was anything other than energetic, determined, focused and strong in his leadership against this virus."

Is that quote from the same guy that toured studios stating Johnson ‘isn’t up to the job’.

Yeah, I'm with you, pal. It's beyond satire, in't it. The records clearly state where 'Bojo' was and when (and dun't 'Bojo' sound exactly like a clown's name?). At his country retreat with his latest squeeze (don't forget the pre-nup, sweetheart) then hobnobbing with tory donors.

Infact it dun't take any whistleblower to confirm he didn't chair any COBRA meetings until many other countries were going into lockdown. But even then he took it so seriously it was a source of mockery at PMQ's.

The bloke's a charlatan. Just as his previous employer and staunch tory Max Hastings warned everyone. And if any more evidence were needed let's contrast all his and his ilk's 'fifth largest economy/they need us more than we need them/won the war' Brexit posturing with where we are in the pecking order for PPE purchases.

Don't worry though, I'm sure that shipment from those paragons of ethical behaviour the Turks won't be delayed too much longer...

You still have not answered my questions but I feel compelled to reply despite saying I wouldn't.
Your consultant friend does not represent the concensus of other London consultants or senior nurses. You may determine it as negative criticism but I am concerned for the doctors and nursing staff as well as patients and feel they should be represented fairly and not by lies. Saying London hospitals have not reached capacity is simply misinformation. Intensive care nurses instead of treating one on one are in places looking after 6 patients. Anaesthetic machines that are being used as ventilators that are not designed for this continual use. A senior nurse with overall responsibility for London saying it is like screaming into a vacuum trying to get a patient admitted to Nightingale, Unreasonable admission criteria, unable to get information from NHS England regarding number of patients being treated. Unfortunately it goes on and on
I assume the consultant you know is like the nurse you know who said nurses can soon get upto speed. It is very clear you will say anything to defend these truly apalling events. Saying "solutions not problems" and the solutions you give being laughable seems to sum you up.

I can only comment on what I hear from people on the frontline. Which if I am not mistaken isn’t you. So where is your info coming from? Your investigative journalist relative? We have seen how the temptation of click volumes and advertising revenue governs their accuracy....

You believe what you want. I will carry on trying to see the facts not the sensational story. Have you heard that amongst the PPE issues aretrusts bidding against each other, untrained people ordering themselves and getting stuff that is unusable? But it’s easier to blame the govt because that suits your goal.

You should know by now that Mr I knows everything about everything. Didn't you realise he's a high flier

If I was a high flier then at 56 I would be retired and not stressing over this ****. But I have an ok job which means I am making decisions that matter in this crisis. I can’t look at last time, ask people what we did before, get some stats out - it’s unique, make it up as you go along stuff. So should we pay furloughed staff 80%, or more? How many should be furloughed? Should we leave empty properties empty or staff with security and maintenance? I have to make these decisions, it’s no fun and no doubt in hindsight we will decide we could have done better.

But we are making them, doing the best to protect people’s livelihood, including our own. Oh, yeah and I am on less percent of my salary than those sat at home enjoying the sun.

You carry on sniping, hating all things German, calling people different to you names. But I will carry on trying to do what is right for everyone (yes including the owners) in these hard times....
Stay Home. Stay Safe.

So as predicted the 'Sunday Times' article is being met by lies from the government. But not on a point-by-point basis because the Times' facts are solid. Infact it's essentially a six page version of Gavin Williamson's 'shut up and go away' to Putin. Underlined by a minister denying previous PM's chaired COBRA meetings when the records show they clearly did (Gordon Brown returning immediately from holiday to deal with the Foot and Mouth epidemic, for example) then stating Bozo had been in London throughout. He just hasn't.

And there's growing astonishment at claims of Britain being an 'exemplar' in terms of preoaredness. Is that why we had the highest daily death rate in Europe? Is that why the Daily Mail carries the pictures of over eighty frontline professionals who've persished, today? Is that why we're predicted to run out of PPE at some point this afternoon?

Dr Rachel Clark made an excellent point on GMB this morning: 'We keep being told decisions are based on science. Well the science hasn't changed three times in a week but the official advice has'.

I think it's becoming increasingly obvious that advice has been at the very least tempered by knowledge we were criminally underprepared from day one...

I remember very clearly the PM’s very clear, inspirational address to the nation on the occasion of his first afternoon news update and press briefing. The nation was to prepare for many deaths which, so sadly, was to be true. However, we were world leaders in the fight against the virus and we could all help by washing our hands for 20 seconds frequently and not booking any cruise holidays! That was the extent of his vision and his intervention. OMG!

Assuming teachers aren’t furloughed and are still being paid to work, schools have been shut for a month, I’m assuming that today, first day back the kids will get a personal phone call from school with a detailed expectation of what’s required of them, a plan to ensure their upcoming exams are not negatively impacted

I’d like to see 5 hours of structured coursework per day emailed over, marked and critiqued overnight

Let’s see what happens

Not really any different to any other country, just following advice from the science

At the time most folk who had just as much information were still at pubs, going To football,

Plus of course it was important that the support/furlough was announced prior to the lockdown

The Government moved over the course of about 10 days bite sized chunks that gave everyone notice,I don’t think they could have gone from washing your hands to lockdown overnight, people wouldn’t have accepted it
