It does a bit, and I’m amazed MPs are so thick they didn’t realise this and publish some sort of explanation as to what costs this will cover.
My wife has never had to work from home in her life but she has been doing for 3 or 4 weeks now, the university haven’t given her any extra money to facilitate that 🤷🏼‍♂️

It certainly does. Shame they've not extended this privilege to other public sector workers, who are required to work from home... HMRC staff, for instance.

so a friend of mine is PA to a Labour MP. He has used some of the allowance to buy a laptop for a member of his team who lives 60 miles from her desktop in the constituency office. As not long out of uni, and living with a single Mum fighting cancer, that seems fair. He has also bought himself an iPad as he doesnt use a laptop normally and is struggling with video conferencing for meetings currently. Also sort of seems fair but he can definitely afford to buy his own like most of us have had to do for extras needed to work from home...

As in all things, there will be some MPs who treat it as though it was there own money and are very careful and only spend if absolutely necessary, and there will be those who take the proverbial. Lets hope the scrutinising bodies are very thorough in rejecting excess claims....

RMT chief Steve Hedley hung up live on LBC after Maajid Nawaz asked him about his comments that he'd throw a party if Boris Johnson died from coronavirus.

The Prime Minister spent three nights in intensive care at St Thomas' Hospital after his symptoms of coronavirus worsened last weekend.

Mr Hedley, the Assistant General Secretary of the RMT Union, wrote on Facebook: "I don't want to offend you, but if Bojo pops his clogs, I'm throwing a party.

"I hope the whole cabinet and higher echelons of the Tory party have been touching various bits of him."

I hope you and yours are all orate.

This in my opinion needs a truce cos there will be lot's of them on both sides that have broken the rule, and some will be daft enough to call for a sacking only to get ratted on themselves later.

I'd bet loads of MP's with another house, your friend and mine Baroness Nugee has about 5, have thought 's***, that gate's not locked' or 's***, I need that address book and me whisky' etc etc, 'I'll have to nip back, it's only 150 miles.

There are lots of people saying they hope this virus will lead to a new world with people behaving differently and better going forward. All i am seeing at the moment is it bringing out the worst in a lot of people.

Good luck to everyone, stay safe. And please stick to the rules as I would like to get back to Chesterfield to see my Mum and extended family this summer....

I may have said that boats carrying illegals that could have people on board who wish to harm us should be stopped and if necessary sunk, that’d put a stop to it
