wakefield must be so proud.

Competition for that prize at CX Aldi, today.

Folk have clearly been instructed to shop one person per household. It's on adverts and signs outside. However a couple in front of me decided that simply didn't apply to them. Infact not only were they obviously together - despite lame-assed attempts to pretend otherwise - they were both pushing large trolleys.

So the lad on the door - from Wakefield, as it turned out - said one could enter whilst the other go to the back of the queue. At which point the woman became abusive. Profanely abusive. Even though this lad was simply applying rules displayed in black and white to all. A lad so professional he apologised to everyone for the woman's swearing which she continued whilst walking across the car park.

Didn't see what happened to another couple behind me who'd played the old 'You go for a trolley whilst I get a place in the queue' ploy...

Brilliant opener from Emily Miatis and sits nicely with the private health debate

The BBC presenter said:

You do not survive the illness through fortitude and strength of character, whatever the prime minister’s colleagues will tell us, and the disease is not a great leveller – the consequences of which everyone, rich or poor, suffers the same.

She added:

Those on the front line right now; bus drivers and shelf-stackers, nurses, care home workers, hospital staff and shopkeepers are disproportionately the lower-paid members of our work force.

They are more likely to catch the disease because they are more exposed.

Those who live in tower blocks and small flats will find the lockdown tougher. Those in manual jobs will be unable to work from home.

This is a health issue with huge ramifications for social welfare, and it’s a welfare issue with huge ramifications for public health.

Wonder if she'll get disciplined

Forget the BBC.

They're so brow beatenly bland, so scared of saying anything even remotely critical, as to've become irrelevent.

Hell, even the Trump apologist pantomime villain Piers Morgan challenges the government he's admitted voting for...

.Interesting, this. Those normally considered to be on the right accuse the bbc of being too politically correct, while those on the left say too bland or tame in questioning.

Maybe this shows they are getting it about right in being impartial, as they are supposed to be.
A new hope.

There’s more than just her. What about her predecessor Nick Robinson (ex chairman of the young conservatives),

That’s why Maitlis’ powerful comments drew so much attention. Something that needed to be said ages ago

Don't forget Andrew Neil, so impartial he's chairman of the company publishing The Spectator.

Are you really suggesting you can’t be impartial on the bbc because you do a second job? When doing interviews then, who does Andrew Neil favour doing his interviews on the BBC? Boris who he “empty chaired” perhaps? As far as I’ve seen, he gives a hard time to everyone he interviews.

Blinking Nora Chris, come on.
A new hope.

That's fair comment Rob, but my point was and is there're double standards.

Can you remember the stick Gary Lineker received for posting personal views on his own social media? The grief Naga Munchetty got for offering a coloured person's perspective on Trump's (obviously racist) 'go back where you came from'?

Yet albeit indirectly a high profile employee publishes far worse without question.

And make no mistake; the thinly veiled threats levelled both during and after the election were designed for a single purpose - to subdue criticism.

I flick between channels most mornings, and the contrast between what government representatives are subject to on the Beeb and elsewhere is stark.

I was pleased she came out and called trumps rhetoric out for what it was, and it wasn’t a great day for the BBC in the immediate aftermath

I think the BBC, due to its pledge of impartiality has to sometimes appear bland/uncontroversial. Your never going to please everyone. I’d rather that, than the likes of Fox News that’s for sure.

I'd rather have BBC Breakfast than watch Piers Morgan - who is only interested in shock to keep himself in the news...

As I've said a million times, these utter morons are allowed to vote. Democracy or not, if anyone thinks that these people can make an informed decision, they are off their rocker! This virus has highlighted more than anything just how selfish, thick and ignorant people are.

And, as I've argued numerous times; I've taught these idiots, I know they don't have the capacity to process clear and lucid information.

These are the same people telling 'Pakis' to fk off home, after Brexit. Probably the same people spitting on Chinese students in Sheffield.

I truly despair at the level of underclass that has progressively developed over the last twenty years.

And she's rate and poignant. A classic example: Reece Mogg suggesting to the wealthy folk that now is the time to buy shít loads of shares.
