Not forgetting the drink prior and the tea/coffee afterwards. A big well done for donating.

Unfortunately the tea/coffee afterwards had been replaced with cold drinks, served at your donation station, to help with the social distancing. I did get my crisps though and ... a Mint Club

Doesn't matter what group you are. I'm O-. The point is you have today saved at the very least one life. Very few on this board can say the same

that's quite offensive.
what about all the people like me that donate by direct debit to cancer research, or similar?

I applaud each and every donor on this board for giving your valuable time up to give something of yourselves. You are amongst the 5% that the 95% need. Well done to you all. Far more fulfilling than signing a DD for a few £'s and forgetting about it.

Really? Do ashgate hospice not need donations to continue the valuable they do? Is blood donating more valuable than palliative care? Is saving a life more important to Han ensuring a dying person gets care and dignity?
While I applaud what you do for blood donation and child welfare, you seem to be a strange character that has some very strong anger issues
Doing good for others takes many many forms. Just because they are not your chosen routes does not diminish them in any way.

Good for you, mate. I was booked in to give blood yesterday evening but I had a text cancelling my appointment at the last minute. I was looking forward to getting out of the house and doing something a bit different..

I give blood and over the years I have raised many thousands of pounds for varying charities including Cancer research, Kids with Cancer, CiN and the British Heart Foundation and many more. Never in a million years would I belittle anyone who donates to charities via Direct Debit or any other way. Giving Blood saves lives, no argument with that but so does donating to charity and I loudly applaud anyone who does it. You're a bitter and twisted person.

So have I donated many pounds and still do. However I find far more fulfilling the giving of blood.

Hope not. We only have 5% of the population supplying the entire country. They can supply their own.
