Yes but there are two relegation spots
As I understand it the EFL had previously decided that their would be only one team relegated from L2 to the NL this season not two. This is to compensate for the loss of Bury to L1 which has only 23 teams in it. Their decisions, already taken, on promotions and relegations brings back their full compliment of clubs by promoting two teams from the NL.
Meanwhile, the NL, even though being in possession of the full facts for several months regarding the EFL decision, still have NOT made any decision regarding whether or not 3 or 4 teams are to be relegated this season from the NL. Now, I thought that to be a very simple decision to make yet they haven't got their brains round it yet!!!!
So, what chance have we got for them to make a major decision when it comes to coronavirus and it's implications on clubs, players and fans health and welfare?
For me, there's only one decision regarding this season and that is to declare it is over and not to mess about with future seasons and other competitions for the sake of trying to complete this season in unfair conditions with teams potentially being made up of different players than they are at present.
I can see that decisions about promotions and relegations are debatable and need to be agreed with the EFL in respect of whether or not one team or not is relegated from L2 as this could determine whether no teams, one team or two teams are promoted. Then that would leave the NL to determine how to best bring about the full compliment of clubs in it's top league and to, also, decide a method of further promotion from NL North and South should any clubs fail financially before the commencement of next season.
