If this season is eventually void and all records scrubbed and we start again from the beginning of the 2019/20 season, effectively, does that mean that Bury are back in the league, if they can operate financially?
The club still exists and they were expelled from the league for being unable to fulfil fixtures in a season that doesn’t exist.

FA statement
We have been working collaboratively with the National League System (NLS), the women’s football pyramid and the wider grassroots game since the outbreak of COVID-19 on how to conclude the 2019-20 season in the most appropriate way possible.
These are challenging circumstances for English football and all decisions taken are in the best interests of the game and in consultation across key stakeholders. Our primary concern will always be for the safety and welfare of clubs, players, staff, officials, volunteers and supporters during this unprecedented time.
Today’s steps take into account the financial impact during this uncertain period, whilst considering the fairest method on how the sporting outcomes for the season will be decided with the integrity of the leagues in mind.
National League System
The NLS and the women’s football pyramid were able to build a consensus amongst their leagues and, where possible, aimed to create a consistent approach across all leagues, whilst taking into account the unique characteristics of each individual league.
As a result, The FA and NLS steps three to six have reached a consensus that their 2019-20 season will now be brought to an end, and all results will be expunged. This will mean no promotion or relegation of clubs between NLS steps three to six, and no promotion to NLS step two.
These decisions will also apply to the leagues and clubs who play at NLS step seven.
We will continue to assist and support the National League (NLS steps one and two) to determine the outcome of its 2019-20 season as quickly as possible. The planned implementation of the restructure of the NLS will also now be deferred until the start of the 2021-22 season.
Furthermore, we can now confirm that we have decided that all grassroots football is concluded for the 2019-20 season. This will allow the game to move forward and to commence planning for next season. Our County Football Associations (CFAs) will be supporting grassroots leagues over the coming days to determine how they should close out their current competitions.
Where appropriate, the above decisions will be put to The FA Council for ratification.

Finish this season then play the next season in whatever shortened form is necessary to get things back on track for 21/22 to go on as normal. Either have teams only play each other once, or do the league split thing like they do in Scotland, or even split each division into 2 entirely so teams would either play 18 or 22 games. Scrap the league Cup for a year if necessary.

They’ll definitely try to exploit it if they can find an investor in this climate

“ A little more on that news today - South Shields have already reacted & will be looking to appeal or take legal action. They’re currently 12 points clear at the top of the Northern Premier Division - and a cancellation of their season would appear grossly unfair.”

By doing that, what are your suggestions regarding players contracts and loan transfers both of which expire by the end of April?
Then, say if the season doesn't restart until September what are your proposals regarding all other players who will be out of contract at the end of June?
Are you going to make players remain with their present clubs until the season is deemed to have ended even though they might be out of contract by then, returned to their parent clubs, possibly not been paid since the expiry of their contract, and, maybe, have received a better offer from elsewhere?
I'll be interested in your well thought out answers.

Well worth noting that we have Euro 2021 with playoffs and World Cup 2022 (and qualifiers). It’ll be interesting how the powers that be will fit all that in if next season kicks off late. It’s going to be a messy 3 years if
they try to salvage this season. Also FIFA have ensured a split 22/23 season due to Qatar 2022

The NL should be consistent and apply the cancellation to all divisions within its league structure.

I think because the club's are split on what to do and can't decide in isolation.
For example they could follow the lower leagues and void the season but what would they do if the EFL relegated the bottom club to the National League?

The clubs haven't been asked to vote but some have expressed a view when enquiring about financial assistance. We aren't amongst them as we aren't disadvantanged compared to other clubs by whatever they decide.
