Started with a mild sore throat and then BAM was completely wiped out with achey limbs and lethargy. At the minute I'm just freaking out wondering if I'm going to move on to the chesty cough. Of course I cant get tested so I've no idea if its covid19 or some other nasty bug. My missus has been running parallel with me symptom wise. My lad has asthma and he is isolated with us but so far he's shown no sign of symptoms *touches all the wood in the house*. In short I've been shitting bricks and as someone who is prone to health anxiety my mental health has been taking a beating. Its just awful not knowing how this is going to play out. It's like waiting to be hung and every cough or symptom is being analysed in minute detail. My reflux is through the roof which is making me cough which makes me.... well you see my opoint.
I'm working from home but its hard to concentrate. Still plenty worse off than me. I've tried to avoid as much covid updates as i can but i should get myself back in the loop a bit more. The general gist from my NHS colleagues is this is a shitshow beyond comprehension and they are starting to worry for themselves. There's a mantra going round called "Theres no emergency in a pandemic" which is about not helping anyone unless in full PPE. No heroics etc. Scary scary times guys, stay safe everyone, please isolate.
Thanks for asking.
Glad to hear from you and thanks for the update.
Keep battling on.

Middle class wànkers, thinking they can ignore the government guidelines and make up their own. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Why do you assume they are middle class? VVankers come in all sizes, shapes and class?
Prejudice on your part?

Just a warning you can now be stopped by the police if you drive somewhere to exercise.
Right as well, these oafs need stopping

Crazy and what a waste of rrsources by Derbyshire plod. They must have other priorities surely than that?
It’s hardly a gathering - it’s people (who may live 10 minutes away) getting exercise in an open space.
Jesus have you seen the shops and tube trains!

If you keep your distance from others I can't understand what it matters where you do it. Within reason that is. I drive a mile to where my boy and I go for a walk. We social distance. What is the problem?

Some of the issue with places like Curbar Edge, Stanage Edge is if you get injured its a bigger task to rescuse you when resources are needed elsewhere plus arguably more chance of an injury than just a walk locally really. Also i think the main part of this has been the numbers over last weekend and early this week. It was ridiculous numbers, probably busier than normal, and they are trying to discourage it completely. I also believe the car park at Curbar Edge was blocked off earlier this week to try and stop it only for folk to move barriers and just ignore the requests.

Because it’s much easier for the Government to give a consistent message, don’t use your car unless it’s essential and exercise from your house is not open to misinterpretation ( well it shouldn’t be anyway)

I think its a case of being sensible, in your case it seems fine but piling out to the Peak District en masse in cars for a walk with loads of others or a BBQ clearly isnt.

I guess it is but if you leave it up to people showing common sense it’s gets us nowhere, that’s why the lockdown was implemented

It's because there are about five thousand people who live ten minutes away. If one family do it... what's the problem, there isn't one; if five hundred families do it (like at the weekend), then there's a big problem....
