Lockdown is a joke, I'm still at work loading our lorries, cladding materials for buildings, and still getting far too many customer collects in the yard that need dealing with,, provisions are in place to try and protect us, but I do not see my job as essential, but can't force our company closure only Boris or my boss can do this, till then it's work as normal trying my best to avoid contact with customers...
Besides that there is still far too many cars driving around, there's even been a couple today with caravans hooked up.

Ran through Wingerworth today to see several builders, roofers and glaziers carrying on as if nowt'd changed.

Then passed the site near the Hunloke Arms in full swing.

Can someone please tell me how these folk fall into the 'essential workers' category?

But I don't blame them. We're still to see a proper package to protect the self employed whilst the government has gone from telling everyone to stay at home, to urging them to work from home where possible. Whilst refusing to impose closures on building companies.

Apparently had to put police cars at Curbar. Edge and Stanage Edge to move on visitors who turned up and moved blocks on the car park so they could park.

Not involved in that end of a project at the moment but I can absolutely guarantee that even at times like this commercial directors/Quantity Surveyors for the big contractors are threatening Sub Contractors with penalties etc for non conformance.

Money is the bottom line unfortunately and the big contractors are no doubt worried about late completions etc on projects which they will then be penalised for.

Until there is something in law in which which these contracts are null and void in these times of national emergency, then they will attempt to continue to risk peoples lives. Tragic but true. I can see trouble and probably bail outs for some large contractors ahead but so be it, it needs action urgently and this self employed situation is dragging on far too long.

I've seen a couple of people on twitter say they have walked off various sites across the country today, which is great. But not everyone can afford to do that and as you say I cannot blame the self employed that cant't to keep risking it at all, but they obviously shouldn't have to.

Carr Vale park and Hornscroft Park in Bolsover have both been closed off, because people are letting their kids go and play there etc. I'm a bit gutted as that's the only place I'm comfortable letting my dog off the lead for a run as they're fairly enclosed, but I understand why it's had to be done.

Ive been as rough as a badger for that last week or so....

Started with a mild sore throat and then BAM was completely wiped out with achey limbs and lethargy. At the minute I'm just freaking out wondering if I'm going to move on to the chesty cough. Of course I cant get tested so I've no idea if its covid19 or some other nasty bug. My missus has been running parallel with me symptom wise. My lad has asthma and he is isolated with us but so far he's shown no sign of symptoms *touches all the wood in the house*. In short I've been shitting bricks and as someone who is prone to health anxiety my mental health has been taking a beating. Its just awful not knowing how this is going to play out. It's like waiting to be hung and every cough or symptom is being analysed in minute detail. My reflux is through the roof which is making me cough which makes me.... well you see my opoint.

I'm working from home but its hard to concentrate. Still plenty worse off than me. I've tried to avoid as much covid updates as i can but i should get myself back in the loop a bit more. The general gist from my NHS colleagues is this is a shitshow beyond comprehension and they are starting to worry for themselves. There's a mantra going round called "Theres no emergency in a pandemic" which is about not helping anyone unless in full PPE. No heroics etc. Scary scary times guys, stay safe everyone, please isolate.
