Just seen a Ryanair flight from Leeds that landed in Malta was met by people in protective gear and all passengers taken straight to quarantine for 14 days.
Why weren’t they told that before taking off?

That's a bit naughty.

Most Maltese holiday makers are retirees with little better to do anyway.

Hope they upgrade their TV package to the adult one for their stay.

No need. I remember as a six year old crossing the yard at my grandmothers to go into one of a row of outside toilets. There, hanging on a nail, were neatly cut squares of newspaper. If all fails try a wet sponge on a stick. If it was good enough for Roman emperors, it's good enough for me. I think I'd cope. Andrex indeed!

Sorry but that's bollox, 670k deaths in this country alone, pmsl, there to date has been 5440 deaths in China, and look at the size of that population, and they pretty much have it under control.
Cases are falling on a daily basis.

Remind me how they achieved this? Now compare that with what Boris has told us to do.

We're in unchartered waters and, if our scientists have got it wrong, it could get very ugly.

Heard today we have only 2.2 ICU beds per hundred thousand compared to Italy's 12 and Germany's 29.

Then the whole 'change production lines to make respirators' thing is a huge red herring. So in the space of days the JCB quoted (nowt to do with them chucking wads into Tory/Vote Leave funds, of course) are gonna design, install infrastructure and train folk to make them, are they?

In fact when the chairman of Rolls Royce who were also quoted was asked he knew absolutely nothing about it.

Then where're the extra NHS staff to operate them? The bays equipped to host them?

I'll say it again; no one could've prepared for this and maybe, just perhaps, our government's decision to lag way behind the actions of others will prove inspired. We can only hope so because innocent lives are on the line. However if not hard questions must surely be asked - including whether a health service left weakened by ten years of underfunding was a key consideration!

Indeed, they have completely state controlled media and the government announces as fact what it wants even if it's not the case.

Be interesting to see the world's response to them when this is over. This isn't the first virus to appear from their neck of the woods in relation to it appearing in their unhygienic and unsafe food markets, next time it could be end game. They must be held accountable and punished.

I see the government is buying up private hospital beds. They should tell them to give them for free or risk losing their charitable status and the associated tax perks. Why taxpayers subsidise these hospitals for the rich when the NHS is on it's knees is beyond me.

You mean why is the government not blackmailing businesses?

Because, erm, that would be a disgusting thing to do?
