The reasons for attendance figure ridicule are threefold.

First and foremost it's a clear and pretty amateur attempt by Carson/the Club to twist the truth - there's absolutely nothing to stop them revealing the truth.

Secondly it's a tangible manifestation of years of such skullduggery, of the kinda duplicity that's left stands so deserted.

And of course third each and every one of those empty seats is a visible rebuke to anyone still trying to deny that widespread dissatisfaction...

Agree with you but most clubs report attendances in the same way. Man U for example: they used to make season ticket holders pay up front for a number of cup games. When 30% didn’t turn up to watch Hartlepool in the League Cup they still declared a near capacity crowd.
Ironic too that we all used to believe that attendances at Saltergate were often under reported for dubious reasons.

Only 30%, ours would have been more than double that, maybe a record gap percentage wise for such reporting, on a day with a quid for a kid offer too.

If most clubs report attendances this way we shouldn't be chastised for it.
I would really love it if only about 20 turned up to watch, and the announcement was ' and tonights attendance is 1750 that's one thousand seven hundred and fifty '. I would wet myself laughing. Probably shout back in your dreams.
There were significant jeers at last nights announcement

Do you know whether AC was in attendance?

That photo gallery on the club website is so depressing. It really brings home the scale of the disaster.
Lowest 50/50 I can remember.
Definitely less than 2000 in ground.
With our history of fake raffles - Can we be certain that the 50/50 is actually won or even paid out? It wouldn't surprise me if we were to find out there was another RaffleGate !!

I reckon Dave couldn't give a flying fig about the gate, or the sorry state of our club.
