Can’t believe people haven’t been seen we lost the play off semi

When did they start going I wonder, when we won the league at Burton?

A true fan would know we didn't win the league at Burton!

I'd be back. I'd take the young un aswell. Can't justify giving my hard earned to the current lot.

If someone came in with a proper plan for the future, training facilities, a scouting network, recruitment process and getting a grip of the finances then that would be a start.

Getting in touch for advice from the board rooms of accy, Burton ect... Wouldn't be a bad thing either
Here we go again!

As to the question asked, I've still been going to a lot of games but with increased weariness and despondency. It isn't just that we are awful- we have been awful many times since I started watching- it's just that we are a new, sustained level of awful. I'm surprised as many still go as do as it wears you down.

I would love if a bunch of local businessmen took over if only to bring some much needed optimism to the club.

If they could then run a progressive, self sustaining club with supporter input, a long term plan for the playing side of things (with a youth centered and more modern approach than a scout who attends home games for recruitment), that would be great but lets not get ahead or ourselves

We won promotion. The league was won at home to Fleetwood, which I think was a few days later.

That's right. We were boarding a plane to Benidorm for a stag do and missed the Fleetwood game.

We didn't lose to Bolton in the Play Offs, either!

I choose to go every now & then to pay & watch....I stopped having a season ticket when I felt it was going belly up.
With any business, when things start to go wrong on the coal face it’s all about the management at the highest level & it filters down.

No one can deny we probably enjoyed the most exciting times over a 6 year period when DA first took charge...championships, Wembley, FA Cup etc etc. But he made one huge stubborn mistake with PC..from that point this club began to implode & we have never recovered. Sometimes people need to hold their hand up & admit it flipped up, I’m out’...a new vision is required with new enthusiasm & bring back the feeling of encouraging & exciting fans to come back.

I also genuinely feel Sheridan is still the man for the job and with a new higher management system in place (getting rid of DA, AC, GB etc) this club would start to see its 6,000 fans return.

The beating heart of this (& any football club) are its fans...show the right encouragement for them to want to come back & they will return.

Season ticket pricing needs to be right
PR & marketing needs to right

I think with a bit of savvy marketing, the first game under a local consortium would draw in 6000. On the back of a couple of wins, a less venomous atmosphere the gate could easily be maintained for a good while.

Well, enough people have said they'll be back and bringing mates and have done so publicly. Having done so they need to show they're true to their word. My lad might not want to go but I'll be making him whether he wants to or not!

I still go home and away. The fun in it has gone though . If the current regime were bought out completely and a new owner with the club at heart took over, I’d spend in the concourses and the shop which doesn’t happen at the moment.

Remember historically we don’t have 6000 fans, we have 4000 fans

The other 2000 are new, attracted by the ground and the product

The first job is getting the 4000 hardcore back

I dont go now unless its away and then I have to be in the mood.... if we get a local consortium taking over, I'll definitely be back when I can, I might even help with a small loan if needed!

If you're going to quote 4000 being a base figure you should omit the word historically
Derbyshire is Derbyshire
Yorkshire is Yorkshire

Never the twain shall meet.

It's highly unlikely that Sheridan's salary will be doable should common sense return and things be run sustainably. And, of course, that's just the tip of an enormous iceberg. Make no mistake, pulling us back from the brink is a massive task and it will take time. Phil's post rightly alludes to the fact that progress may mean some backward steps are inevitable in order to inch forward. Bring it on.

I’d accept another relegation if it meant we did ourselves of the current board and owner

I’d also accept a couple of years at the level while things are stabilised, and slowly built back up
A new hope.

Agreed 100%. The harsh reality is it may well be inevitable.
