I hope someone is testing the waters here but what fans have got to commit to is regular attendance should the early years be hard going...

..which would presumably manifest itself as commitment to a long term season ticket deal, in which case I'm in.

I'm not sure a Bob's Board survey is of any genuine scientific use though. There surely arn't any Bob's Boarders whose response would be that they will never attend again under any circumstances because of what's gone off, and any genuine contenders know that.

I stopped going firstly for financial reasons (lost job, couldn't afford it) but after the appointment of Saunders and sundry tales of impropriety vowed that I would not step foot through the turnstiles until Allen & Carson and their hangers on were gone. If under the scenario that a consortium of fans were to take over and remove the deedah mafia (bearing in mind I am technically a deedah) then without question I would return.

Last had a season ticket in 2015-16 season, went twice (one a freebie) when Jack was manager.
If the club were wholly taken over by a consortium of genuine local supporters, regardless of on-field results I would purchase a season ticket and would offer my services to help in any way that the club required. The takeover would need to remove all traces of the current owner’s regime that have contributed to the state of decline, including those who are known or found to have been implicit in the mismanagement of the Club.

The answers to Phil's post shows that under new ownership fans would return in there hundreds hopefully thousands, I just hope and pray something is starting to happen because like you all I want our club back and eventually some good times.Good luck and thank you Phil

Hello again, it’s been some time since I’ve been on here! I think we were readying ourselves for a play-off game to potentially move into level two for the first time since 1951.

The reason I’m posting again is simple, the club I love and have volunteered at for 42 years is dying. That’s not a position that I ever envisaged when we were being entertained by Paul Cook’s superb side, and whilst at that time I could see that we were more likely to have bad times rather than great times, a second straight relegation battle in the National League did not feature in any of my nightmare scenarios back then.

Our club (that’s OUR CLUB) has been run into the ground and trust in the governance and management capabilities is at an all-time low and continues to fall week by week. Crowds have plummeted after four years of declining results and many decisions, on and off the field, have baffled the majority.

That said, all I want to do at this stage is ask a question, aimed at fans that have been loyal regulars but now don’t come as often or even not at all.

The question is, if the club were to be wholly taken over by a consortium of genuine local supporters, would you consider returning on a more regular basis even if the immediate prospect of a significant upturn in results was not forthcoming?

If your answer is ‘yes’ the response is easy, but please add any comments that could help potential bidders formulate their plans.

If your answer is ‘no’ please say what would need to be implemented to encourage you to return.

I’m asking the question in good faith to potentially help out real and genuine interest in the club’s future wellbeing to enable pragmatic decisions and predictions to be made by a number of people who genuinely have an interest in getting the club back on track and returning to being a vital and respected part of the community once more.

Thanks in advance for any input, it will all be useful.

I’m off to AFC Fylde now (make a turn at Preston, seems ominous), I fear there will not be many there in Blue!!

Phil

We might use the post Brown/early CFSS era as a template Phil, a period when many Townsfolk, including myself, donated whatever time, money and abilities we could spare to rebuild a once proud football club.

I'd certainly buy into that - on every level - meaning a return to the season tickets, afternoons in the lounges, snap and ale on the concourses, Lotto contributions, merchandise from the shop and non matchday events I've been snubbing for more than three seasons.

One caveat, though - a total clear out of every current crony, sycophant and hanger-on.
Never underestimate the stupidity of people

I'll also add, without claiming to speak on behalf of friends, but non of the people I used to regularly attend games with post on here. I strongly suspect half a dozen who like me who have either completely or virtually stopped attending games would return to support a new regime.

I would personally do my best to mobilise numbers around a ressurected social scene. (ie. Plenty of beer first!)

Used to love the 12 til 2.45 session down Brampton followed by a last minute taxi down Whit Moor.

I go to far fewer games than I used to due to the standard of football on offer, which let’s face it, is due to the shocking leadership at the club. I would certainly attend more if new ownership was in place, regardless of what happens with the outcome of this season. Might just buy a ticket for the Euro draw tonight.

There are bobs board members who still say without Allen we wouldn’t have a club etc, and if 100 of bobs board from the not a penny more stance say they will return, buy shirts, buy club merchandise etc it’s an indication of what to expect.

We’re not going to suddenly hit the heady cook era of 7000, or anything close, but if we can get a regular 4000-4500 instead of the current level of attendees of less than 3000 it’s a basis for the new lot to work on and build on.

The CFSS kids from a school for free should also be started again, build it from the bottom
A new hope.

The away end (after tidying up) needs handing over to the trust for every home game where away demand is below the East Stand end section.

I’d like to see Danny Wilson or Roy McFarland offered some sort of role in the new setup.

Simple answer Phil is that if we feel part of OUR club once more then its a big YES. I don't want any part in the corrupt football club that we have become. One that's alienated so far away from it's own supporters that I would never thought possible; that's how disgusting the current lot are!

I've never stopped going but our season tickets have reduced from 4 to 2 - I'm sure we could do something about that. I would sooner see us in National League North with a 5 year plan under Chesterfield ownership than the slow death we are witnessing now.My 17 year old grandson is a 4th generation Spirite and I want him to have a club when he is an old man like me.Cheers Phil.

I've not been for around 3 seasons, but still go to the odd away game. Before that I'd missed less than a dozen games at home in over 40 years. The reason I stopped going was due to all the off field 'issues' that just kept mounting up. I never thought I would ever stop going, but my morals and principles led me to the decision that I simply could not give Dave Allen any more of my money.

If someone else take over, I will be back.

I've continued to buy a season ticket.

I have regretted doing so this season.

Had it not been for my lad still enjoying attending games I probably wouldn't have gone to as many games as I have, as finding excuses not to attend had become much easier. Bizarrely I feel I've almost become immune to the fortnightly farce taking place on the pitch; what really hurts is the (at best) indifference of those in charge about it all.

I've stopped my 50-50 draw, Spire Lotto, and buying programmes and merchandise from the store. I rarely buy anything from the kiosk and the only pleasure I get from attending games arises from spending time with family and friends, and a pint or two of Golden Bud. If CFC was taken over by people with the clubs best interests at heart I would definitely change that.

YES, absolutely.
As another board member posted previously there was a large group of us that used to go regularly, now there’s around 5 when I do decide to attend. Over the last 3 seasons I’ve gone from doing 25+ games per season to only a handful. Mainly away games as it’s an excuse to socialise with friends even though we know what’s on display is going to be unbelievably poor. I would do all I could to support a takeover by a consortium of genuine local supporters

Hi Phil,
I am a season ticket holder who has lost interest in going. Yes the football being played is poor which obviously plays a part but things go much deeper than that. I never thought that I would 'not really care' when the team loses but I'm afraid the massive void between those that own and run the club and those, like myself, the so called supporters, has reached a level where I am sadly at that point.
The club needs new direction, forward thinking and above all people in charge who we can trust to run the club professionally and openly. The massive debt may destroy the club as we know it but if new ownership occurred, even in a much lower league and the football club once again became a community club the fans could be proud of, I for one would be back every week.

Hi Phil
First time in 47 years I’ve not had a ST this season, totally dismayed with the last four years and couldn’t justify subjecting myself to such misery anymore.
Feel like a recovering addict at the moment taking not going to each game that passes as a success and feeling better about it each time.

That being said, if there was to be change at the club with a sense of all sharing the same ambition then I would no doubt return on a regular basis. Until then, I will follow with lessening interest as each week passes.

Sad really that it’s come to this for so many, but poor decision making combined with a complete lack of accountability and remorse from those responsible has led to the current unacceptable circumstances we find ourselves in.
SUPER JACK LESTER!

Welcome back Phil !
I have continued to purchase my season ticket over the last few years, although I haven't always attended.
If a takeover was to happen I would immediately recommence spending on food, drink, programme.shirts and using the hospitality again.
I would also be happy to volunteer for things such a ground cleaning, painting, etc.
If is legally possible I would also be happy to purchase shares from a new issue on a monthly basis and I suspect many more would.
Also I think there would be great interest in committing to a long term season ticket, say five to ten years.
There would also have to be an absolute clean sweep with not just Allen,Carson and Bean going.
The other directors would also have to go as I believe neither has acted in the interest of the club or its fans.
The associate directors should also resign their positions and we should resort back to the appointment of a broad spectrum of genuine supporters to a new fans forum that would meet monthly with the directors. The creation of the previous fans forum was probably the only good idea CT ever came up with.
Above all there must be honesty, integrity and a willingness to engage with the fans.
We are all in this together and the only way this club is ever going to go forward in the future is by staying together.
Regards Nigel.
