To answer your question Phil, I am a Spireite, always have been and always will however, I stopped going near-on 3 years ago, or should I say I stopped spending anymore more of my money on CFC, as I was given a freebie last year to watch a game which actually proved my decision to stop going was correct as we were awful!

I have always said that as soon as the current owner and his associates leave, I will buy a season ticket immediately, no matter what league we are in.

I stopped going during our demise from the football league to return again last season but I couldn't take it the club was ruined this season I set out with a bit of optimism even bought a shirt which is still where I threw it after yet another dire display. I cannot stomach what dross is been turned out. As far as the upper management of the club I have little to say. In answer to your question yes I would love to see a consortium of local business men run the club at least they would have some pride in Chesterfield FC

The truth is there would be an upturn in attendances but it would be a matter of weeks before the usual suspects would start to pull the new people to pieces. Thick skins would be needed. But with enough people pulling in the same direction instead of the shambles we have, I'm sure this club would turn round.
As for myself, I haven't stopped going but it certainly makes it easier to go the extra mile if you have faith in the people running the club.

You could probably add 2k to 3k on the gate if this rotten regime effed off.

A big `YES' from me Phil - and I withdrew my support earlier this shambolic season and haven't visited the Proact since the pre-season Rotherham game when I came to the match with a Rotherham director and we spoke in the West Stand lounge with you, Jim Brown and Dave Pugh. Someone recently said this current team was the worst they'd seen in forty years, well I'll raise that to sixty three years, I've not seen anything as bad as this since the 1956-57 season when I attended my first game as a ten year-old - which is the main reason why, like hundreds (if not two or three thousand others!) I refuse to attend and support this current regime financially. However, with a change of regime and new owners who had the best interests of the club and fan-base at heart I would attend and would be happy to support the club financially, whether they were in the football league or not...we've done it once following the Darren Brown fiasco and we can do it again;I firmly believe our fan base is strong enough - and although the shares are relatively worthless these days, do you think that if we pooled them all together from CFSS members we should be able to muster a fair few thousand which might accord us a minor voice in the future of a resurrected Chesterfield FC?

Hello again, it’s been some time since I’ve been on here! I think we were readying ourselves for a play-off game to potentially move into level two for the first time since 1951.

The reason I’m posting again is simple, the club I love and have volunteered at for 42 years is dying. That’s not a position that I ever envisaged when we were being entertained by Paul Cook’s superb side, and whilst at that time I could see that we were more likely to have bad times rather than great times, a second straight relegation battle in the National League did not feature in any of my nightmare scenarios back then.

Our club (that’s OUR CLUB) has been run into the ground and trust in the governance and management capabilities is at an all-time low and continues to fall week by week. Crowds have plummeted after four years of declining results and many decisions, on and off the field, have baffled the majority.

That said, all I want to do at this stage is ask a question, aimed at fans that have been loyal regulars but now don’t come as often or even not at all.

The question is, if the club were to be wholly taken over by a consortium of genuine local supporters, would you consider returning on a more regular basis even if the immediate prospect of a significant upturn in results was not forthcoming?

If your answer is ‘yes’ the response is easy, but please add any comments that could help potential bidders formulate their plans.

If your answer is ‘no’ please say what would need to be implemented to encourage you to return.

I’m asking the question in good faith to potentially help out real and genuine interest in the club’s future wellbeing to enable pragmatic decisions and predictions to be made by a number of people who genuinely have an interest in getting the club back on track and returning to being a vital and respected part of the community once more.

Thanks in advance for any input, it will all be useful.

I’m off to AFC Fylde now (make a turn at Preston, seems ominous), I fear there will not be many there in Blue!!

Phil

YES.

I’d instantly buy replica shirts and stuff online, that same day, from the club shop. I’d buy tickets for games, even if I wasn’t able to attend

But while Carson remains at the club and while Allen still owns 83% not a penny will go to them
A new hope.

Yes, I would once more become a regular, maybe even a season ticket holder.

Obviously its important who the person is who would be running the club day to day. It would have to be someone totally trustworthy with a good strong team behind him (or her).

To be Honest Phil, the consortium would have to get rid of all the brown nosers and newarks at the club, the yes men etc, and then I think the fans would come back.

If it did happen, you could do a lot worse than put the only honest man at the club up as chairman. Jim Brown. They could also do the right thing an give a fully deserved Testimonial to.

Yes, Croot, Warner Coe, Kit man and others would also have to go. Nothing that represents or has supported the current regime can remain
A new hope.

There is zero trust between supporters and senior management/owners and the club can't progress until that changes. Fans want/need a football club to support and I doubt any would really support any other club, so a clear out with new owners/management (not sure about Shezza) would be a start and I am sure many stay aways would be back.

As posted a lot will come back and many will want to help out in some way just like in the early 2000's when we were all needed. The only downside I see is Allen doesn't want to sell (know body only him knows why) and is anyone able to match his rediculous price he's asking for or will he lower it?

YES YES YES

I volunteered for the club too, prior to CT taking umbrigde with some of my comments on here regarding the circus over the road, and would happily volunteer again and help in any way I could.

My fire hasn't quite gone out, but its dwindling massively...

Not stopped going home or away, but it's getting harder to validate. If I do end up stopping, it'll be because of those in charge, not the results or manager.

Good to see so many yes responses.

I haven't put a penny in their pocket since Jack left.

I thought at the end of last season we would be best served by one last push from Uncle Dave. That push has not happened. We started the season with one FB, no WB's, no wide midfielders and the same sh***y midfield as last season. The stubborn old goat will never learn.

So yes, I will come back under new ownership. But good intentions are not enough. We need competent people, with enough cash to keep us going. I used to buy the 50/50's, spend 20 notes on snap and beer, and will do so again. Miss the football a lot, but will never set foot in the Proact until all remnants of this rotten regime are gone.

I bought a ST again for this season due to the upturn in results since shez came in, but have not attended a game home or away since the 1st September, but if a takeover was to happen,.. I'm back, as would be many many more I'm sure.
all we are saying, is give us ...a goal, or 2+

I stopped going on a regular basis before the real bad times but nothing has happened as yet to make me want to go. I sort of fell out with football getting fed up with the fake excitement of bigging up premiership games etc etc and not helped by town not doing well. I'd certainly look to be going if not all the time certainly on a more regular basis if there was a change of ownership and feeling around the club. Whilst the stuff on the field is rubbish to say the least i think the majority are just fed up with everything as a whole and would potentially be more lenient with the on field stuff if there was a marked change off the field of how the club is run and how supporters are treated....actually as supporters who want the best for the club not people that are seen almost as an inconvenience when they are questioning things.

The only Ass. Director prepared to engage with fans was Leslie who, it seems, dissapeared when her comments on one particular issues didn't match those of GB (was it the benches saga?)

Either she was chastised for such comments, or she had an epiphany and realised where she was...
