Strange interview. Thought the questions at times were odd. Goalkeeper situation? Least of our worries now.

Didn’t ask about signings or team shape etc. Worries me that sheridan wants to play for ‘2nd balls’ as I reckon we lost 90% of those on Saturday. Saturday was so frustrating watching the full backs just lump it.

Two back, I assume that’ll be Hollis and McGuire

I assume that he’ll revert to 3 at the back. After Saturday I think he’ll pack the midfield and push Mandeville further forward

2nd Balls; because the first touch on Saturday led to giving the ball to the opposition or having to put a tackle in cos they'd lost possession of the round thing.

Yeah boot it forward planning to loose the initial challenge but pick up the resulting lose ball. Better than nothing but is this a recognised tactic? Maybe he phrased it wrong.

He did mention signings, they are agreed but just waiting for final confirmation from the parent club. I was listening to the official website though that had multiple interviewers so RS might have filtered them out.

You need to question Shezza on that one!

It was like the ghost of Martin Allen had come back to haunt us on Saturday.
As soon as Jahal starting booting it long, my heart sank.
The thing is, the small period of the game where we passed it a bit, we looked decent and scored a goal - the only thing Boden did all day.
And again, with an absolute dogga team, when you pass it about in this league you seem to hit the jackpot.
Take last season - Shez came in, added a couple (one being Chapman who could cross a ball) passed it about and got promotion form.
Saturday, with players out injured/sick, the scenario is 'putting a dogga team out', so pass the ball!!!!!! DO NOT HOOF!!! It will never work for a squad lacking in hight!

Winning formula:
MEDIOCRE SQUAD + PASSING FOOTBALL x WIDTH = RESULT

Non-winning formula
MEDIOCRE SQUAD - (TALL PLAYERS x NARROW af) + HOOF = SADNESS

I think we did compared with what went on under MA but that doesn’t say much. His options for this style of play are truly limited given the midfielders we have, unbelievably he’s compounded the problem by resigning some of the worst offenders.

Why does he think he can coach 30+ somethings to suddenly change?

It’s annoyingly weird. It either brings into question his decision making or it shows that he hasn’t been given a pot to p**s in and he thinks these bunch of wasters are the best he can get for the money they’re on (surely not).

They are all ex league players and although they may be desperate they’ll still be on a wedge

Not sure Shezza knows his non-league just yet so he’s playing ‘safe’

If Davies is one of them that would be a big gamble.
God I hate this league.

I don’t understand the desire to restrict signings to current “league players”. Once they sign for us they become non league players by definition just like all the others in the National League, many of whom also have league experience. Like many fans we saw enough match fit, right age opposition players last season good enough to be in a promotion winning team for us. “Been there, done it” doesn’t necessarily mean can do it again. We need to sign ready to go players for the positions we want to fill based on current performance, not young ones with potential or seasoned pro’s who best days are behind them. All been said on here before so apologies for saying it again.
