I thought not.

Following your logic, all the teams positioned above us in the footballing pyramid should therefore be owned by individuals who have greater wealth than Dave Allen. How many owners in the national league and leagues 1 & 2 can you name where that is the case?

I think you've gone off at a bit of a tangent somewhere along the line my friend.
I hate to pi## on your dreams but we could be playing 2 tiers below where we are now and they still wouldn't be able to afford to run the club. Once again the words millionaires and two bob spring to mind. Sorry but Dave Allen isn't always wrong, when he said tyre kickers he hit the nail on the head
I understood that there were a couple of very wealthy people in the background ready to support that particular venture, should it have gone ahead.
A new hope.

No right back and no wingers. It is infuriating. Starting the season with the squad in this shape is pitiful. Cheers Dave.

DA sets the budget, Shezza signs the players.

OK he was stuck with Smith, Wedgbury, Weston but did you really expect we'd start the likes of Yarney, Hollis, Wakefield. Mckay, Weir at the club.

Add in the fat slob Gerrard and finding a place for his son and Shezza has made a rod for his own back

Perhaps if he hadn't signed all that crap he might have got in a proper fullback, the odd winger or wingback

I wonder if any club relegated from the football league to the national league has ever made it back up under the same owners who dumped them down there.

Cheltenham - but of course they are giants

Yeah you’re right. Sheridan has to Shoulder the blame too. His squad building has been atrocious.

How can we have no wide players? It's not acceptable that we are in this position. A Sunday pub manager would be embarrassed at it, let alone a guy we're led to believe is on big money.

I reckon we are in for one of Sheszza's 40+ seasons like we had in 2009/10 and 2011/12

We had a very good 30 minute spell in the 2nd half - but even then everyone was still saying where's the ****ing width

Yeah and never capitalised. That's what a good side would do. Realise they're on top and take advantage. This side, like last season, have not got the ability to do that.

Very Good? I fear the post match beer may have somewhat impaired your memory and you have also clearly added an an additional zero on the number of minutes by mistake.....

We were good for 3 minutes would probably be a more accurate summary of that performance!

Your probably right about the 30 minute claim but the 20 minutes leading up to the goal we were looking dangerous and created some decent chances.

Just because you are rightly dismayed with the overall performance shouldn’t cloud that

Straw poll time.

Hands up if you think Sheridan has kept Wedgebury, Weir and Weston and signed McKay and his son because he thinks they're great... or because his boss won't advance the necessary funds

Cheaper to keep Weston and Wedgebury than offload and replace them. As no one would be likely to match what they're getting. Weir presumably happy to pay for buttons n'all as i doubt anyone would be chomping at the bit to sign him.

Sadly we’ll be paying him minimum wage +

Probably enough to hire a good few staff on match days who actually add value
I was happy that takeover didn't go through. As they were going to retain MA til the end of the season. But i expected at least a RB and a good central midfielder on top of what we've bought in.

Injuries haven't helped today, but this squad seems well shy of what we need to push for promotion.

2 to come in apparently from blunts, one is a right back. Problem yesterday was height in the defence with just Evans there. You got to give Dover credit they deserved their win
God I hate this league.
